THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup, joined the forum a couple days ago and paid my dues yesterday at camp UJ

also realized I got body damage, I seem to have demolished a small tree on the trail with my rear passenger door at some point Sunday :dunno: the 96 is no longer pretty

LET'S GO FRIGGIN WHEELIN!

I cant wait for this weekend. Friday cant come quick enough. I took the Heep off the trailer a few minutes ago to do work in the driveway and ended up flying around my neighborhood, then around the cranberry bog. Oh well off to do some work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha awesome.

I might have an axle lined up :party::party: if I do Rob is my best friend forever.

However Friday needs to take its sweet time getting here or the new one may well meet a similar fate to the old one. I gotta plate/gusset the mounts.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Unless quadratec has some super awesome shipping I don't think I will be showing up for the wkend. I think I am ordering the water pump tonight.

Or maybe I will just get a cheap autozone or NAPA water pump to last me a little while and order one from quadratec later on down the road so I can show up next wkend.

You can pay when you get there right? And how easy are the easy trails (since that's all that has room left)? If I don't sign up for a sat trail can I walk along other trails while people wheel or what is there to do if I am not wheeling that day?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if I have a choice (i.e. both still have slots open) do I want trail 1 or trail 2? :dunce:

Also a valid question  Im trying to decide trails 1 and 2 would be 'too easy' since (per the description) stock rigs can handle them... would almost rather walk/watch harder trails maybe depending how easy they are. I think all I NEED to do to get back on the road/trail is water pump, upper radiator hose, and fuel pump (aka just swap in the new-to-me fuel tank/pump/filter). If I can get that done by next wkend I may show up, though at the same time I had other thing I have been putting off for a couple weeks now that I need to get rolling on... putting them off 1 more wkend wouldn't be hte end of the world though

STFU and buy one from napa and never worry about it again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the silly e-brake handle in red jeep decided to break last night. the spring and/or rod fell apart and the button shot off  the e-brake was released jsut enough so the brakes werent dragging on the drive home from Colin's. thankfully, i already got a 97+ console swapped in so i jsut stole the e-brake handle assem outta black jeep and tossed it in. BAM!! good as new

Curious how you converted from 2 cables on the '95 to 1 cable on the '97+ ebrake handle...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Don't they both have one cable at the handle...?

I know on my '92 the two cables went up to one bracket above the rear d-shaft, then went to one cable up to the handle.

same thing on my 95, IIRC

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the buffalo chicken pizza I had for lunch has absolutely demolished me... you know buffalo chicken was done right when you can still feel it a few hours later.

only a couple hours till I start fixing the 96 again  since there is almost zero chance of me getting aftermarket UCAs shipped here by the day after tomorrow, anyone got a set they want to sell, or failing that, a stock UCA or two they want to get rid of / sell / trade for other parts?

EDIT: I'm gonna aim for trail 4, it apparently also has an opening or two. Says 33 inch minimum...

... who has the appropriate welder and wants to lincoln lock an 8.25? It's probably a 27 spline and with as much rust as it has, no resale value, so it's about time I did so

i used the 2 stock 95 cables and the stock 95 cable bracket. on the 99 e-brake cable piece, i welded a nut on it. i used a piece of all-thread between the two to make the connection. provides easy and plenty of adjustability and is uber simple to hook up/disconnect.

My '93 has the two soft lines run up to the bracket above the rear d-shaft then a hard line went up from there. The '97+ I have had a single soft line run up to it and IIRC it looked like it needed to be able to flex a bit after it entered the '97+ handle so running a hard line up there would be hard. I wish I could just find like a 6"-12" piece of ebrake cable with the cable ends at either end of it.

you can do it, no special welder required... my 8.25 got welded together with a couple car batteries and jumper cables, so yeah! just splooge it all together in there and you'll be good :woohoo:

ahh, I figured a stick welder or special wire was required or something, guess I'll do that tonight or tomorrow night while I've got the welder out :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, just use a healthy amount of brake cleaner then have at it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yep... and the brake cleaner I use is non chlorinated so I don't even have to worry about killing myself by welding on it, just lighting my rig on fire.
