Sweet, got the hardware and I have 1/4 and 3/16 plate sitting in the garage right now (I put the 3/16 aside since I will probably use that). I was just worried something like a nut that size would offer too much slop since the bolt isn't a PERFECT fit. The stock bracket fits the bolt snug, the nut does not. I did pick up some 3/8 flat washers as well since those are a pretty snug fit around the bolt. Worst comes to worst I will weld a washer on the end of the nut to pick up some of the movement.some 3/16 or 1/4 plate and some Gr 8 nuts. its wicked easy to make, and make PERFECT. i tossed one together in 3.6784928 seconds for Melissa's jeep
Tomorrow. I'm tired and grumpy now. It's mainly because all the bolts lined up before I painted it and then my Dad decided to weld some extra supports on without telling me and I think it may have tweaked it just enough that 5 out of 19 bolts will not line up at all.

You were about 20 minutes away from my place.Holy crap am I beat. I got home at 11:30 after getting to Canobie Lake Park today with my daughter at noon. I finally convinced her to leave at 9:30. I cant believe she lasted that long. Shes only 5 and normally takes a nap during the day and is in bed by 9. In fact I wouldnt carry her at all today just to tire her out, but I'm the only one who seemed beat by the end of the day. The sunny warm weather early in the day did however provide some enjoyable sites.
Ehhhh. If they don't like it they can click the back button. I do find it amusing how this thread pollutes the search results for everything though.I can't believe this thread reached 3260 pages. I can only imagine how stupid outsiders must think we all are when they view this thread, or the disdain they may hold for tying up their space.
I call this the inverse midas touch, everything I touch turns to shit.Everything I touched today broke.
Kinda ghetto but I guess it'll work.I'm about to ratchet strap the transmission to an office chair to allow me to slide it back enough to get the plate in.
hahahahaha terrible. My tranny weighs less than colin so I'm hoping it'll be fine.
On a whim, I just checked Heleta's site for hole saws. Holy Crap. I'll get 2 just in case. Max rpm for steel is only 65 rpm and the new drill press only goes down to 250... I should rig up a VARIAChttp://www.hermanscentral.com/product/morse-av80-5-bimetal-hole-saw-6320.cfm seems like a good site
I've got a 30 amp monster variac sitting around somewhere (think I know where it is!) you can borrow, but I'll need it back at some undetermined point in time when I decide to actually build the kilowatt-class HF amplifier I bought it for.On a whim, I just checked Heleta's site for hole saws. I <3 transmissions and tcases.
Yeah, I won't be here then though... Maybe we could do that when we do your ramps.I tried that, when you have em going too fast they make an ungodly racket, chip teeth, and tend to jam at random, even if you use a very slow feed rate.
I'll bring the variac on down next time I'm in the area (I'll probably be down there Friday) so we can rig it up and give it a try.
