THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ken that sounds like a plan. you should buy the drill press i posted up. if i didn't already have one, i'd be asking you to buy it for me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Picked up most of the materials to build ramps today...

48 feet of 2x2x0.25 square tube, 60 feet of 1.5x1.5x0.188 angle.

I love being able to pick up 12 foot long sections of metal stock and just toss em in the back with space to spare.

BTW, and I'm not sure if it's on the same idea, but my dad's buddy with the '41 (I think) Power Wagon is looking to get new rims/tires for it.

Any idea on where to find some? It's a massive 5 lug pattern with ginormous lug nuts.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ours has a larger table but is only 1/2 HP. I'd say it looks like a good deal if its in solid working condition.

dont forget about the working light and the laser!!!! :D

x2, it looks like the older/basic version of ours, id get it.

If I had space for a drill press that big right now I would :dunno: if I pick it up I'll be tempted to use it, and that's bad because my entire apartment is carpeted except for the kitchen and bathroom. Metal shards + carpet = landlord's lawyers have a field day on me when I move out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I know... I actually run straight CO2 with my MIG (just because it's the only tank I got with the welder, and I am actually running flux core right now).

I need the O2 for my oxy/ace so I can preheat better and so I can "persuade" the 1/4" a couple degrees lower than where it is sitting right now.
My mistake, good to know. I didn't know you had a torch setup. Aren't they wonderful?

If you aren't picking that drill press up lmk, I have been looking for one in the sub $100 range but that looks pretty decent and I could spend the extra $$ if you aren't going to get it.

edit: and that cordless impact is very tempting. I picked up the dewalt recon 4.5" angle grinder from them and it's working well so far, I am slowly building my dewalt tool collection, that might have to be added to my collection later tonight.
You work in Hopkinton, right? If you pick this drill press up for me, bring it to my house, I'll pay you back for it and sell you mine for $20.

I really like having a work light. I'd be tempted to wire one up.

Yeah, that would be bad. Speaking of landlords. I'm giving up and just taking what little $ I got back. She pisses me off and even having to deal with going to court is not worth a few hundred bucks. :(

Oh BTW my clutch master and/or slave blew out on my CTD yesterday. Good thing I taught myself how to shift without a clutch so the drive home wasn't much different then normal. Only had to bumpstart it twice.

Josh is the %#$%in man though. Getting me the whole assembly today from the dealer he works at.

Work lights are awesome. I have 2 LED rechargeable ones I keep in the jeeps, I can weld when it's completely dark just by using them while starting the arc.

Wow that sucks. It's an external slave, I hope...

how much was it?
$300 including tax :rattle:

They quoted $187 for 20' of what you wanted btw. So figure like $100 for 10'.

Awesome. Glad that's going to get fixed quickly.

Anthony, my uncle bought my dad this one and it actually works not too bad. Can't break lug nuts free if they're dead tight but it's useful for some stuff.

I'm sure you could find it cheaper elsewhere.
Eh, I'm in no rush. If I get one it's going to be powerful and probably expensive. Thanks for the link though.

Yes oxy/ace are amazing. I got mine the same time I got my welder last fall. Miller135 welder w/ CO2 tank, cart, a bunch of wire, plus extra stuff and oxy/ace setup (well tanks/cart) all for something in the $450-500 range IIRC. I think it was worth it.

I work in Franklin, about 30 min away from Westboro. I would consider your offer except I don't want a bench top, I want a freestanding one... so long story short: no thanks  If I do get that one myself and you ever need to use it you are more than welcome to stop by though.

And I would def wire up a work light, or at least tape a small LED flashlight to the side of the thing

except when the cord is a seperate and hangs off the side of the machine and then proceeds to fall down and get caught in drill bit while its spinning :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

maybe sam can reply to this? why did you got with 2" on the sliders i measured it up and looks like 3" will fit better?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh and I went through kelley square this morning in the massivemobile :scottm:

I drove like I owned the road and for some reason everyone else drove like I owned the road too.

Not to be a jerk, but I'm going to try to buy it. I'm not sure who I will owe beer to, but I'm going to try... Thanks for the offer for letting me use it, though.

That is a good deal...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I can pick it up for you if you buy it, no big deal there. Westboro is only a couple minutes out of my way if I head for bump's tomorrow evening as planned, just get things worked out and tell me where and how much you agreed to pay for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, well I just emailed him, if he gets back to me I will either just ignore the email or whatever.. And no problem, I just figured that when you told Ken he should buy it that you weren't seriously interested in it anymore  I'm not sure if that thing comes apart at all (aka top comes off, base comes off, etc) I could possibly fit it in my car (trunk with the seats folded down, back seat, front seat, etc). If it does I may be able to pick it up for you anyway, I just won't have the Jeep up this way so if it all stays in one piece I won't be able to help ya out for a while (maybe could pick it up on Sunday on the way back from wheeling if I can get everything done in time).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yup. 2 nuts and it's out. Master has two more bolts, clip for the pedal, and a plug and that's out.

New one comes as an assembly (aka master/slave/line connecting them). It's basically a closed unit that requires no bleeding and comes full of fluid (according to my FSM, which could be wrong).

Aka this shouldn't take me more than an hour or two.

Oh and I went through kelley square this morning in the massivemobile :scottm:

:rolfmao: I can totally picture this.

Not sure if you saw this or not Ken?
