THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No sooner had I pulled the trigger on the rockauto order than I remembered something else I needed. Now I can't remember it at all again. Why does this always happen?

My parent's house is about to get descended upon by FedEx drivers. Learned my lesson about having them ship things to the ghetto, I'd rather drive up there once or twice a week to pick stuff up than have them drop hundreds of dollars worth of parts on the front porch 8 hours before I can get home.

EDIT: hmmm. it isn't raining right now. To eat lunch, or to replace my unit bearings in the parking lot?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love staring at tons and tons of Excel graphs and data, trying to figure out what was happening, and figure out why the graphs are not symmetrical.

front is a prorock 44 setup from mopar with JK brackets with dodge power wagon inner c's added on. the rear is a stock power wagon axle. Mopar and Axletech Motorsports teamed up to make the portal boxes. thats about the most thats known right now.
I want portal boxes, for the sole reason I want to run a CTIS system similar to the Hummer. I want to run a CTIS system so I can air up and down easier going onto the beach.

:D

I'm not kidding, I really wanted to do this for the very reason of going onto the beach a few years ago when I was on the beach almost every day.

I think Mark should buy everything that he has ever thought of buying...that way 2 months later they'd be available for 1/2 price!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I hadn't had them apart before... But this is sam's old axle, and apparently airing it out loosened things up a little. Busted one knuckle and bruised my hand pretty bad on one hub bolt, the rest weren't bad. The hub nuts were beastly but I got them out. Put it all back together and I can tell the difference even at parking lot speeds. The old ones were really bad.

Oh... And I discovered the source of my death wobble. The passenger side balljoints have a little bit of play in them, where "little" should be interpreted as "little, on a geographical scale." Wow.

Call up Jeff. He can get direct spicer replacements pretty cheap (couple bucks cheaper than AllJeep).

He got a set of 4 for my CTD for $120.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmmm, found an atlas II for $1400... kinda tempting.

Edit: Also 36x12.50 TSLs for $500. Damn D30.

Oh BTW...there's a plymouth trailduster build in the latest four wheeler magazine...

Rolling on 39x14.50 Maddogs and 4" of lift...

I'm infinitely jealous.

as soon as i was going thru my issue and saw that, i wanted to call you and rub it in your face.

GIVE ME LINK!!!!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ill give you $945.37, a pastrami sandwich, a bottle of soco, and the link for your Jeep .!.:D.!.

Let me decide if I want it first. Then I will give you the link.

how bout i WONT punch you in the face if you give me the link :D:D:D

you dont want it, way overkill and D30's hate front digs

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think we should all show up at Mark's place on Sunday and forcibly install everything on his jeep, then kidnap him and bring him to NACFest.

Colin - thanks for the heads up, wonder if he has any in stock or if he can get some by tomorrow if I have him order them now, PM time!

Oh yeah... my pass side UCA bushing is bagged to hell on the MJ. I so should have replaced those before I put the axle in, but go figure, I was way too lazy to do that :doh:

You can not punch me in the face anyway.

But I think I came to the conclusion that if the D30 really starts hating me for installing an atlas I will start building a HP44 and get that installed. Do all the work (gearing and such) myself to save the $$ and hopefully be able to build it relatively cheap

Now it's just a question of if it's 21 or 23 spline and what ratio it has. On which note: the AX-15 was always 23 spline, right? And if so what year did the AW4 change to 23 spline? wasn't it somewhere around 92?

Colin I would rather have your troubles then mine right now. I've been hearing a noise during shifts and confirmed it yesterday that it's the TC. I also looked it over and realized my truck is stuck in 4wd but becuz of lockin hubs didn't realize it. It looks like the motor selector died in 4hi. Looks like I'm off to the dealership after work.

D44 = waste of time = :gee: = :twak: = .!.:D.!.

ax15 = 23 spline

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Seems Jeff doesn't have Spicers in stock and can't get them by tomorrow... it's not lifted, has stock tires on it, and isn't going to be beat on though, so I feel perfectly safe running TRWs on it.

Probably only doing the pass side for now as I don't feel like doing any more balljoints than I have to. I also may have to pound on the inner C a bit more, I have a bad feeling it may still be bent, will have to measure the upper to lower arm distance on my non tweaked d30 and see if it's any different on the one in the MJ.

EDIT: Ross, I already have either four or six UCA bushings on hand. I ordered them, was gonna install them, looked at it and went "ehhh, looks fine, don't care, installing it this way"

Bump, that really blows, is it under warranty still? Hope so, TCs/parts aren't cheap.

:dunno: i guess they werent spicers then?

TRW's = cool stuff. black jeep runs TRW WJ balljoints and TRE's, havent had a problem yet. i just gave the idiot at advance auto some old stockers and he give me all new lifetime warr so i have a complete set of brand new TRE's in case the year old ones give me issue.

Yeah, well I was torn between just keeping the Jeep at 9"/HP44 or going bigger. I kinda decided I may just stay away from bigger for now, but idk what else I would use up front unless I jumped to 1-tons. :dunno: Haven't put much time into thinking about it though. I will figure that out when I get there.

Edit: And my boss just walked by and said he was leaving cause he has a Dr appointment that got rescheduled. As he walked away he said "I guess theres no-one around to make sure you stay here or keep working or anything...." haha, awesome

My HP44 build up cost around $3K, but then again I went all out on every part I bought for it.

You're a waste of time.

Good to know. Only issue I foresee with doing that is that my front will be wider than my rear. Now.... this isn't necessarily a problem, but I think that if I did so I would soon have to follow it up with a matching rear  God this Jeep is a money pit.
