THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i put a can of Restore in with some 15W-40 in the nova. it didnt help oil pressure and it sounds much unhappier now. totally dropped the ball on me, i had high hopes

What kind of oil in it did you have before? Running diesel oil isn't as great of an idea anymore since they stopped adding all that ZDDP they used to. I'm switching to 5w-30 from 15w-40(rotella) in the Honcho and I was going to experiment with some restore in the Manche.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im considering tryin rotella 15w40 for the next change, aint like i got much to loose, i may just see how many 4.0's i can blow up this year

That's what I had in the Honcho. Ran good enough. I'll let you know how I like it compared to 5w-30(Valvoline maxlife synthetic blend and zddp additive).

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

got my new front end in tonight, getting things done FTW

just some penzoil, same oil just heavier weight now. i had good luck with Restore in a jeep before but it didnt help the nova.

I have been running Rotella in the XJ for years. Not sure on the weight though, usually was whatever weight walmart carries. I just ended up buying it in bulk for the Jeep and dirtbike.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Doesn't seem to matter what I run in the MJ, it still makes a racket, though 10w40 and 15w40 make it a bit quieter and keep the oil pressure a little higher.

It still pisses oil out or burns it or sends it into a black hole or something no matter what sort I use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

btw winter fuel burns real quick in the summer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I've got 5w30 maxlife in my Comanche for no other reason other than it's free but so far so good. It's essentially the same idea as the castrol high mileage or other high mileage crap wich I like it the XJ except a blended oil. Castrol stopped the leaks in my XJ so I figured why not...

It also has something like 1000ppms of Moly or whatever that durablend didn't have.

:banghead:

this code is now EXACTLY the same except for variable names.

Example code works.

My code doesn't.

:banghead::banghead::banghead:

(for those of you who aren't programmers... that's like your jeep exploding because you put tint on the windows and painted it a different color.)

different software versions? are you in windows? try restarting :-p

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nope... I'm feeding the code into a precompiler and feeding the output into MS Visual Studio 8.

Precompiler runs on Linux, files are then copied to a network share and compiled from a Windows Server (ha, oxymoron) box. Everything is the same except the code and the code only differs in the naming.

I have been beating on this damn thing since 8am and need it working for 2pm... it is going to be a long night unless I call it quits and tell the guy I'm presenting it to (who wrote the precompiler) that his code is doing something really stupid and then show my example side by side. I'm almost starting to wish I was still fighting bureaucracy instead of working on this disaster.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I completely forgot about it this year. Got the XJ back on the road in march, if I had planned for it I could of made it.
