THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

teh problem was the mopar gasket didnt fit properly

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow, that sucks.

Just got back from the jy - got, well, most of my stuff I actually cared about, ross' 8.8, anthony's clockspring, the only remaining 96 down ohc was gross as hell and shafts were not happening in that heat.

96-down ohcs are WAY easier to run cables for. I had to pull half the dash apart to get that stupid thing out.

And I'm getting faster at 8.8 pulls... This one came out way cleaner and only took about 30-45 minutes. It even has a mount for a pinion wrap/axle squat control shock, I bet the street jeep puts that to good use :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

check engine code - p0740, TCC circuit malfunction, here we go

hopefully its just a bad wire or something, my transmission isn't acting up at all

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey Adam and Ross, remember that upper ball joint sleeve we were putting in back when you guys came down?

Some how someone put it in backwards, because there is a crap load more camber on that side now, so looks like I have to pull that all out again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ryan, sounds easy to fix, I'm heading to nh for the stuff momentarily, drive that sucker up here in a bit and I'll see if I can't find the problem. That is, if I can figure out which box I put my DMM in...

what time you gonna be around tomorrow?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Ahhh shit I forgot :( not sure, I'm heading down to foxboro sometime in the morning then parents place for lunch and helping a friend move in the evening.

Would monday evening work maybe?

Installed the new steering wheel and airbox in the 98, mounted the ecu and grounded those disconnected grounds, as expected it mostly fixed the wonky light issues.

Also, it seems my utter disregard for maintenance paid off again, the water pump in the mj stopped leaking again.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I just got back from driving the Jeep. How I mentioned it makes noises above 3k RPM and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the trans input bearing or something... well the noises get worse and worse the higher its revved. I think I am going to ignore it. Seems to be running fine. Only make noise above 3k RPM (well it starts at 2.5k but can't hear it very often at that speed) and it seems to only make the noise while under resistance (i.e. accelerating, driving up a hill, etc). If I Let off to coast the sound goes away. maybe it's just my syncros getting being a little pissed off? :dunno:

Edit: Oh and driving the Jeep today sucked miserably. Hot out plus no interior = my Jeep was an oven. Damn trans tunnel radiating heat. IIRC I was talking to Billy about the rear vent windows and said they are nice but not necessary... Well I lied. Those vent windows are amazing. Everyone (well every 2 dr) should have them.

I asked you how it was supposed to go. Can't blame me dude. It takes like 25 minutes to fix it anyways.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Fixed today:

- battery terminals on the CTD (both positives were loose)
- foglight connector (dumb contacts were bent/had play)
- airbags (tidied up the wiring, new relay, dropped in rebuilt compressor, etc.) holds pressure just fine

I'm gonna try to do the 98-99 HD style steering before NACfest. Big RockAuto order tonight (~$350).

Also picked up a pair of x760s for the spare shafts Billy has for my XJ.

Finally picked up the flywheel and throwout bearing, as well as gasket kit for the NP435.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So yeah, my motorcycle is all sorts of confusing.

So the other day it just suddenly died. I blamed it on the heat and it being an old ass battery. Once I got it running it ran fine for the most part and started OK fine later in the night after I got home and then I tried it again a few days later and it was OK. I haven't ridden it since it died since I haven't had a chance to pick up a battery and I don't want to get stranded somewhere but I figured I would take it to the gym since thats right down the road and my father could come jump me if it was needed... now the bike turns over fine but doesn't start... just keeps turning over. I am gonna check spark later and make sure it has enough fuel, but wtf. hopefully it's something easy. :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

still got a few loose ends to tie up, like install inspect. cover, tighten last e12 bolt and trans pan gasket

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So added gas to the bike, still no start. Gonna walk it out to the garage tomorrow to try and figure out happened. Weird as hell that it started fine 1 week ago (I started it before my bros graduation last sat to see if the battery was holding charge). The bike hasn't moved at all since then. :dunno:

Ya, I know. That "someone" was me saying it should go one way, then you and Ross agreeing. I know I told you how it was supposed to go, I guess I just had a brain fart right then.....along with every other time I work on vehicles.

On an unrelated note, the rear disk swap is done, but I have no F8cking clue where those damn caliper bolts went for the rear calipers. I thought they were in that little Moog box we put the extra e-brake shoes in (which I"m glad we did, because I broke the compound off one set of shoes). Just sucks because now I have to make another damn trip into Hyannis, which is about 30-40 minutes round trip.

Just go to the hardware store and buy some new ones.
