No need to go that far forward and into the doors. You just create a huge amount of work for no gain by cutting the doors like that, IMO. Why do that? Cut the rear and move the axle back a couple inches.
You need tires and an axle finished before you start cutting.

i wanna get rid of how the outer section of the wheelwell comes back down the to body. from the seam in the middle, i wanna have the outer section come straight out. i dont wanna go too far in the rear cause i wanna be able to still fit the gas door. the doors are getting cut up anyways, so i was gunna get rid of the lips they have and make the edge flat. the small area jsut behind the door will be replaced with tube/round stock so the actual open area of the wheelwell will be inside the white line a little bit.

yes i know i need tires .!.:D.!.

some dude showed up the day before me and grabbed those iroks. the guy is still awaiting final payment so i may have another chance at them.

Still :thumbdn:.

You are creating much much more work than you need to. Move the axle back ~3" and save yourself the work of that entire front edge and gain a better departure angle in the process. The outer edge of the wheel well coming down is no issue.

Relocate the filler neck. You're going to probably need to move the tank anyway.

I'll say it again, don't do any cutting or messing with the wheel wells until you have a tire you can mock with.

I like the shape, it just needs to move back.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i see no need for even movin the rear back 3" and how is he gonna majicly move the rear back without a diff leafpack or coils? im keepin my shit simple only goin back a inch with RS perches i see no need top complicate things like you 2 do

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just buy my Jeeps pre-built. Zero headaches .!.:D.!.

He does not have leaf perches on his axle yet. That could take out a bit of it.
Making relocated, stronger, front leaf hanger is easier than messing with the door.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I gotta admit, at 10pm when I was standing in the rain figuring out how to put the stock gas tank supports back together with my new shock crossmembers installed, raising the gas tank and installing it in the trunk instead was real tempting. Only reason I didn't is because I had to get it ready to roll and off the property, and wasn't sure if it'd pass inspection that way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what's wrong with the axles? d30/d35? I bet you could at least sell the 30 unless it's fubar

EDIT: oh yeah... last night I was so zonked out from working on my jeep for so long that first I welded without turning my helmet on (was bright, but not too bad) and then flipped it up, turned it on, and proceeded to weld with it up. Not a mistake I'll make again anytime soon... fortunately there seems to be no permanent damage. :dunce:

i see your points and i understand its more work. the axle is already gunna be moved back a few inches with offest UBE's, front pockets moved back 2 or 3", and shackle brackets. ive also been thinking about flipping the springs for more wheelbase too. the filler neck is getting relocated further back and up on the quarter panel.

this jeep WAS bought pre-built. its just getting built again :D

flipping the springs alone wil give you 4"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey Ross, I lost your phone number. I can come by tomorrow to help you out with the mill and shit. Did you talk to your airgas guy?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cam bearings look like crap, ugh I wonder if I should still go through with this. At this point I should get new heads and rebuild it or just try throwing the cam in and hoping for the best.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Just discovered the water pump in the MJ shit itself, it was overheating a bit so I went to fill the radiator up... yeah the fill neck is full of shaved aluminum.

This might also explain the EXTREMELY loud knocking sound I get from the area of the front of the engine which goes away above idle. I probably have to replace the radiator as a result as it is likely full of shavings too but the fins were falling out of it in November when I replaced the transmission cooler lines so it doesn't really surprise or bother me too much.

Also, (Ken or anyone else) have you heard of or seen the "PowerProbe?"

I saw this while watching the power block on Spike over the weekend. Looks interesting, but not sure how practical it would be.

http://www.amazon.com/Power-Probe-319FTC-III/dp/B000KPU8MK

You can see the video on the main page of them using it on the show. http://www.powerprobe.com/powerprobe/Home.html
I have one. It has its uses, but its not something I use everyday.
Its a tool that can easily confuse you if you dont have a good knowledge of electrical systems, and I have seen several people get completely lost diagnosing an electrical problem with one.
