Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh yeah, i still have an extra if you need it...you were looking for one right?
edit: not sure if its a d35 one you need.
Need what?
This is my D44 in my green jeep, I'm all set with it though thanks.

i hate your face

I'm going to go with a big X2.
Colin = the bane of my existence.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got a raise.

@#$@ yeah!!

nice! I got mine last week :D I should be getting my first paycheck after my raise in it in a couple days  Wonder how much more it will end up being after taxes.

And this is very tempting: http://recon.tooliday.com/ I will have to think on that and maybe purchase this evening. An impact wouldn't be bad to have for the JY, it would just be a matter of finding batteries and a charger for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, but still, in the winter you can bundle up... working on jeeps naked seems a poor plan especially when angle grinders and welders are involved

Are the radiator and mechanical fan clutch in good shape? e-fan still working properly?

Nice!
The fan clutch is the next thing I'm going to replace, I've been eying that for a little. The E-fan almost never goes on. Nothing seems wrong with the radiator, it has a little rust on the bottom mounting lip on engine bay side, but it drains fine and clean water runs through it fine.

No matter how much you bundle up with layers, it doesn't help when you can't feel your fingers. If you want to have any sort of dexterity, you can't bundle up your hands. Banging or hitting you hands in cold weather is the worst.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

for how crappy it is inland, by the ocean it's humid, but a hell of a lot cooler. it's down near 60*

This is why our new garage is going to be heated.

I can't stand working in that cold of weather. And space heaters don't work for crap unless you get a really really good one, but I'd imagine those are expensive.

We're planning on tapping into our NG line for heat.

I'll just point the space heater at them I guess :dunno:

Doing a thermostat in the driveway in 15 degree weather without loosening the belt pretty much sucked (as we already discussed), but it was doable. I still would rather have AC in a garage than heat, I think. I handle cold a lot better than heat/humidity.

And a thermostat is like an hour job.

Imagine having to swap a transmission or something similar.

Have fun.

:D

Ross, I am blaming you for screwing up my transmission seal, its leaking now from where the t-case is mated to it.

I dunno, it took me about 45 minutes even including having to drive to AutoZone to buy a gasket scraper :dunno:

I did imagine doing a transmission in the cold... which is why the transmission is still sitting on my back porch instead of in the XJ. I really should get around to doing that sometime soon.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got Bill's battery! I'm thinking that if he's home this weekend i'd stop by, bug him, and steal his money.

Road trip!!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Morning guys

nacfest sure is creepin up fast... I don't know if I'm gonna make it or not... like 50/50 at the moment.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Heat > Air conditioning in a garage.

It's only this hot for like 3-4 months out of the year tops.

After that, it's all cold.
X2.

Definitely... but I can just get a space heater for that. And honestly working in a 40 degree garage isn't really that bad, makes the welding jacket way more comfortable.
Space heaters are no good.

Yay! There is no money to steal however. Really, there isn't.

As someone who used a space heater for that purpose all during the winter, it SUCKS.

It is only good for heating the space directly in front of it.
I agree with Mark. This doesn't happen much, but I agree.
:D
I just got a raise.

@#$@ yeah!!
Adam, Colin has my money.

An hour? Darn dude.

I have a bunch of stuff to do, but I WILL make it.
I WILL make it. I just have to keep telling myself that. :)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If you just plain run out of time and need more hands to make things go faster, I'm more than willing to help out... so long as it doesn't involve welding. There is absolutely no way I'm going to have a wheelable rig lined up for NACfest (this month is going to be hectic and so will next, if the lawyers fix things up I'll be closing on the 14th and spending the next two weeks moving and replacing a roof) so if I show up at all it'll just be to hang out / steal a passenger seat from someone.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have been telling myself that I would be ready to wheel at lobsters by the end of the month. Now I have to be ready within the next 2 weeks. That means I have to replace brake hose and bleed tonight, do steering tonight, hopefully figure out my ebrake tonight, and then get an inspection ASAP. But more importantly I need to break in the gears. Damn schedules moving forward on me.

I thought I had 3 weeks to get ready until last night after I finished working for the evening and realized May 15th was only 2 weeks away :banghead:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Exactly, my green jeep I thought was alot closer to being done then I thought.. now that I just added a regear to my to-do list I'm starting to think things might not be happening but I'll try the Bill method, It will be done...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It should be done for June but I wont be at NAC-Fest. Funds will not allow that trip. I will be at Fall Crawl though.
