THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You're not going to find one that is cheap with a fill spout inlet unless it is a knockoff. All the ones I've seen at least meet racing requirements for rollovers and such and that just means more $$$.
I'll give you a hint, I spent over 3x what you have "left for pickups, mounting hardware, and fittings" on mine. I'm not proud of it either. :(
Don't use -AN fittings and you can probably get away a whole heck of a lot cheaper.
Yeah. My -AN stuff is sure nice and pretty and it'll get the job done great. I just didn't want to risk hose barbs and clamps when the pressure is less than a couple feet behind my seat. If it where under a bed or something I might feel better about the cheaper route.

No, I might just be that close. :scared:
Yikes. That's a lot on fittings! I think I'll be fine with hose clamps and barbs

Currently I'm looking at hacking up a '95-down XJ assembly, though. Hopefully I can find a reasonably rust free one at the junkyard from some poor sod who replaced their fuel pump just before junking the vehicle.

To be fair, that price includes the lines, filter, and pickups as well.
To give you an idea, here's a couple of examples of what is in my system in no perticular order, just copied and pasted from Summit Racing invoices.
Fuel:
SUM-230620, SUM-220690, SUM-220687, SUM-220648, SUM-G3114, EAR-9892086ERL, RUS-640860, SUM-230116, etc...

PS:
FRA-200106, FRA-215006, FRA-215010-BL

For the PS I had no choice.

Good luck!

I have one for free for you, just have to make sure it has all 3 tabs (I think one might be broken...)

Get me my 5/8" stock this weekend and you can come have it.

That'd be awesome. Don't they only have 2 tabs though? I could swear the pics I'm seeing online show 2 and I think I remember my 96 assembly having 2.

By the time I got home from running errands last night it was past 8 and I didn't feel like dragging everything out to get 30 minutes of work in... but my landlord wants jeep #3 out of the driveway so tonight is booked for that, and I might be heading home early to wait for a package.

Any reason the bend can't be done by cutting and welding or does it have to be bent? I'm thinking it may be much easier if I notch and bend then weld.

I can't even remember. If they only have 2 tabs then this one should be in real good shape, I just have to double check.

Haha don't worry about it man I was just giving you a hard time, you can just cut me a length off, I can handle the bending/shaping.

just had a 2 hour meeting with 2 guys with PhD's. talk about humbling.

I worked with a guy who had a PhD recently.

Guy crapped out papers like it was his job. Didn't even accomplish anything, just wrote stuff.

I've worked with a guy here who doesn't even have a bachelors. That guy maintains almost every corporate website and has his hand in almost all overhead programming jobs (financial databases, spreadsheet macros, etc.)

What did they specialize in?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the project i've been on since january has had me working with one a lot and recently i've been speaking with his colleague a lot.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'm making finite element models of his research/theory and stuff. it's really interesting if you give to sh!ts about this kind of thing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Comanche gas tanks suck, mine leaks gallons of gas and my sending unit doesn't work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Doesn't sound interesting...then again I have no experience with it so it could be :dunno:

I get to plant some antennas on a lighthouse, drive a HMMWV around to test some radios and then build a backpackable version using some Li-ion packs.

X2, mine leaks vapors instead of gas. My sending unit chooses day by day (and sometimes minute by minute) whether it is going to show a full tank as a full tank or half a tank. Just too lazy to fix the wiring issue it clearly has unless I'm fixing the brake lines and the tank at the same time :dunno:

damn that is an awesome job.

I think I'll keep sitting on my ass in a cube fighting the lab team to get my tests run, and waiting around bored for them to finish running when I give up and run them myself...

Mine pours gas out of some mysterious hole I can't find. Which I wouldn't mind if the gas gauge worked. I wouldn't mind the gas gauge not working if it didn't leak a ton of gas. I have absolutely no idea how much gas I have at any given time.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The sending unit is for a 2.5L TBI which means lower pressure iirc then... but that thing looked pretty close to rust free to me.

EDIT: hahaha cmelo that is hilarious but terrible

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It's RENIX... and 2.5 TBI. Either that, or I'm blind and can't see the 4 injectors on the intake manifold, and I really wonder what the wires going into the throttle body are for.
