Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I didn't realize diesels build up nasty gunk in the fuel. It's like a bunch of wax deposits.

My dad's friend Wayne was over (diesel mechanic) and helped me out a bit, mostly so I wouldn't XXXX it up.

Fuel filter @ every oil change from now on.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

wow, that often, huh colin? i hope it's easy to do.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Actually mad easy.

It's a paper filter inside a container right next to the engine.

If there are no deposits, then you just pop the cover off, pull the filter off (attached to the cover), put new filter on, replace o-ring, put cover back on.

If there are deposits, it's the same procedure, but after you take the old filter out you drain the fuel from the container (there's a drain valve and a hose that goes down so you can get it in a bucket), then new filter in and fill the container with fuel so you don't have to bleed it.

Wasn't a big deal. If we didn't have to go get diesel then it would have taken us like 30 minutes to change it out tops, mostly because we had to clean the gunk out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scored this beefy dif cover from a friend at enh for $60

steel is 1/4 thick..don't think i'll be putting a hole in it with the light/mod wheeling i do..

 that's a good one!!!

I want to check out a class 6 a little ways north from me soon. I just wish I knew more people up this way. It's about 45minutes for me, all of you would be like 2.5 hours.

post it on dwe ya silly goose!

I stopped going on ENH. I don't feel like I would fit in with a lot of them.

I agree...good decision

Rob, I still have those shocks and the exhaust shield. I'll grab them when I'm home next weekend, but I don't know how I'd get them to you.

Whenever we finally meet up to trade our crap I can take them for Mr. Rob

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was originally tempted to paint my Jeep semi-gloss black (or maybe a matte black if I can find it for a good price). Then I started thinking of maybe doing other colors, aka more of a gloss rather than semi-gloss. or keeping it red with some semi gloss red or something...

But the more cars I see in a matte black finish the more I realize I think I will stick with my original plan. Esp since I need to paint the Jeep now that I have a black front clip to install eventually.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, paint is the last thing on my list right now... at the moment it's just for keeping the rust away.

I need to install my new brake booster and master cylinder tonight, the master cylinder in the MJ is all kinds of hosed (it will spray fluid two feet straight up out of the reservoir if you leave the lid off, piston seals are junk) and the single diaphragm booster is sucking pretty hard.
