THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am no electrical engineer but under the seat there isnt going to be a whole lot of wires.

Two motors?- Like 6 wires for those
Heat thingy?- 2 more wires?

That is a total of around 8 wires. Think you can handle it Mark? They might be all sorts of different colors but dont let that confuse you.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm getting a poopload of steel for a sweet deal.

Thanks Ross

Once this semester is over, I'm taking two days off and getting a welding tan.

x2 :D except I think I will get my welding tan the wk following July 4th. I have the 5th off already and my parents go to the cape for that entire week with my kid siblings so I have the house to myself.... I will just take the July 6-9 off and make a week out of it.

Edit: On 2nd thought July is real far away. Maybe I will have to start tanning on wkends in prep for my wk off. Then I will have to find something else to weld onto my rig for a week.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

colin, that's awesome. unfortunately i can't afford to take time off for welding tans. :( i've got a wedding in alaska to get to in the fall.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just got an italian calzone for lunch. It looked big and delicious. I went to cut it in half and it deflated to this super empty weak ass calzone. wtf.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

If it weren't for mass land records book 40656 page 362, I would be a few weeks from owning a house.

Anyone want to break into a government office and take a page of paper out for me? Please wipe your ass with it and dispose as you see fit.

The real kicker is that it looks like it was a completely accidental screwup. Everything else lines up except for that one page, which describes a completely different property... the right property is described on a very similar looking page that is in about a dozen other mass land records entries.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So on a side note, wtf happens to the property now that it's all sorts of fawked up and they can't sell it (or is it just going to be a royal PITA to close on it?)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh hell if I know. It sits there forever.

Funny thing is - the people who are selling it to me are actually making a profit :roflmao: if they sell it in the end. It was bought from the original mortgage lender for $25.5k by some investment bank, my offer is 38. The original mortgage lender got hosed, of course, the loan they foreclosed on was originally worth 185.25k, was an ARM, and I'm not sure how much was paid off before they foreclosed on it.

Five hundred dollars to whoever can make mass land records book 40656, page 362 disappear or be corrected. No, I am not kidding.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's 1350 right now. it needs to be 1530.

damn, i wish i could find a house for sub-50k...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I found one!!!!

You can buy it for 38k, but good luck ever selling it, and you might not even legally own it.

hasta hasta hasta

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what were you using to search for said short sales?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh hell no, ignore anything that's a short sale. You want foreclosures, at least they piss you off faster. I was using ziprealty.com.

If you want to avoid paying your lawyer extra what you then do is find the land record website for your state (mine is masslandrecords.com) and put the address into it. It'll come up with a bunch of records, most of the sites absolutely suck and are difficult to use but once you get used to it you can pull all the legal docs relating to that property. Once you have those, get ready for some really dry repetitive reading.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

cool, thanks. i know someone else that just bought a house that was a short sale... they got a pretty nice place that needed only some work. thanks for the tip on the website. i am not really set on living in RI, though i could buy kimbers if i did live here :D (no safety, can't own em in MA). i'm really just looking in the tiverton, fall river, westport, dartmouth area...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

parts of fall river are TERRIBLE. i'm looking for the nice house in the decent neighborhood that's almost in another town but still has the name "fall river" because everyone thinks "oh fall river sucks" and prices are low there.

That's the exact reason I haven't completely ruled fall river and brockton out of my searches

And I was just kicking around that site... why the hell is plymouth county not listed. :smsoap:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Feel free to look in those towns.

I'd rather not go near eastern MA. Almost all the towns are going down the tubes.

Milton used to be a REALLY nice/wealthy town. They just found ammunition at the high school and recently someones house got broken into with the guys owning "automatic weapons". Randolph used to not be TOO bad, but now the high school is losing its accreditation. Stoughton? Don't even get me started on the public schooling here. Not to mention there was recently two murders here and found a dead body outside Town Spa an 1/8 mile up the street from our house.

I'm planning on moving north or west of framingham/marlborough. If it takes me another year to save the money so be it. I spend the majority of my time out here and have little fear of anything going wrong. That's not to say these towns are perfect, but the further away you get from the city the better off you'll be (statistically).
