THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Southbridge is further south and further west. Basicly way the hell out there in usless MA. Not that anywhere in MA is any good .!.:D.!.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hey Adam, if its possible is there any way you could see if you could get the heated seat switches w/ pigtails?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Probably could, just happened to be the first place I looked.

EDIT: Nope looks like they're $2 more expensive at Home Depot.
Huh. Guess I was wrong there... could have sworn they were cheaper :(

awesome. too bad it's got a slushbox. and too bad you didn't spend that time working on your jeep. i'm not saying you haven't spent time working on yours. but it'd be sweet if that same time was devoted to 1 vehicle. i have the same problem right now.
Yeah, I just spent all evening working on "jeep #3", fortunately the engine is off the hoist now, it's sitting entirely on the frame I built + jackstands :yelclap:

can anyone recomend me a good jack to buy? my wally world one that ive had for the past 4 years has finally shit the bed
My 70 dollar harbor freight one has put up with me beating the shit out of it for a while now, I drag that thing through junkyards like it's my job. Bounces off rocks and gets stuff stuck in it all the time, still works. It's a 3 ton but cost me half what these guys paid ..!..:D..!..

I might have to go spend some days by the ocean in the next couple weeks testing the same radio equipment for the Coastguard.

Man my job sucks.

:D
damn you. That's an awesome job :D

imageshack is being retarded or I would upload pictures of the compressor in all its 2.5 liter glory.

EDIT:
Oh and Ken, did you ever get that piece of 5/8" bent up for me?

If not, no big deal.
Crap. I forgot. I have a home inspection from 3-6 or so tomorrow evening, after that I'll be in Worcester if it's worth the extra driving to you, or I can drop it off with someone you'll see sooner at the all you can carry on Saturday.

congrats!! I don't know where the hell Southbridge is, but hope it works out for you! Good luck with it
it's between lesser mudflapistan and western buttxxxistan.
(actually it's a few miles south of the i90/i84 junction. It's fairly gun friendly for a mass town and supposedly near a bunch of legal wheeling)

Agreed... if only I could find a quarter acre lot in a nice town with 1400sf of house on it in southern NH within an hour drive of Hudson MA without spending over 100k.

Smart kid right here
Don't get me wrong, I agree and would love to live in NH, I just can't make it work right now. If this house goes well it'll put me in a spot to sell it and use the money to buy a bigger better place next.

unless your in a club theres nothing in that area thats legal
ahhh, I just know billy mentioned this, so I guess it's land UJ members are allowed on or something? Hadn't looked into it at all really yet since till this week I've been unsure I was going to try and buy this house so there was little point in it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Whew... just coming up. I got a bunch done tonight.

Rob, I got this for X-mas:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/OTC-1536/

By far hands down the best jack I've ever used. A little hefty, but it works very well. The rotate-able rubber lift pad and lift range from 4.00" to 21.00" is nice also. I don't like the alum jacks, you can't drop an axle on them and then expect it not to be bent to all over the place. I'm sure they'd be nice if we built superlight racers, but we don't.

Edit: Unfortunately it looks back ordered on Summit and it looks like the price went up $20. :(

Good morning NAC

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

too bad the slushbox has instant shifts and is the perfered racing tranny :D

you aint got sh!t on me, i gots THREE vehicles to keep going, two of which are money pits.

-cool
-i've got 3 too... (jeep, bike, vw)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmmmm... what a quandary... do I go to work early so I can get out earlier and not work from home in the evening, or do I hit the junkyard before heading into the office?

i got a dana 60 with a truss that says otherwise. compared to all the other ones you see out there, my aluminum one is BEEF. its a pretty quailty setup that ive beaten the bag outta. its nothing to carry around. alot of jacks at local stores were only 2 or 2.5 ton, this ones 3. instead of having that big single stupid roller in front, its got seperate wheels.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just playing devil's advocate: sometimes cheap things are over-rated in terms of carrying capacity or have a lesser margin of safety...

If we are playing that game, I have 4.

2 (or 3 depending how you look at it) are money pits.

Though I will hopefully be at 5 in a week or two, then back down to 4 in a week or 2 after that. (Ideally I will be test driving the '97 XJ this sat and then maybe driving to NH to test drive a '91 Mustang, then spending sat night figuring out what to buy, and buying it on Sunday or the following wkend, then selling the altima within a couple weeks after that)

I always vote to work early and be done early (can always go to the JY on the wkend), but maybe that's because I don't have the luxury of coming into work at 10AM covered in grease :dunno:

yeah... I used to say that, but my HF jack has lifted everything I threw at it, it'll handle one end of a jeep with ease. I haven't found a good lifting point near the center of gravity on my jeeps yet, so I haven't tested it at full rated capacity, but it also lifted the whole back end of an explorer easily when I went to get my 8.8.

Scott - yeah it is fairly nice :gee: though I rarely show up past 9:30, usually more like quarter till 9 to quarter past. These days I am even usually fairly well cleaned up because I keep a can of brake cleaner in the toolbox so I can just hose myself off a little to remove the grease/oil and then remove the residual dirt once I get to work.

Talk to Ronnie Sox about that (if he was still alive).

Gawd do I have to keep reminding people bout dis?

:D

the nova i pretty much back together, enough to run and drive. first thing tomorrow, ill swap all the ATF out and then try to drive it :dunno:

wrong. study the mappppppsssss

Don't **** with Billy regarding legal wheeling. He is the king of property maps.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, I would probably do the same, but the fact that I am expected to be at work around 8AM (ish, I'm sure no-one would complain about 9AM) and I wear slacks and a polo or button down to work... kindof works against the JY thing. Yeah I could change but there's always the chance of being 'less than presentable' after making a JY visit.

All this talk of Billy knowing legal wheeling, I think I owe him a PM. Got me a couple questions :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

btw, congrats on the house ken. :thumbup:i don't remember if i already said it or not

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks - don't jynx me though :roflmao: things could still go wrong, the title search needs to come up clean, home inspection too (expect that to be fine), might have back taxes on it, gotta sign purchase and sale agreement and the title still... got my fingers crossed.

Scott - yeah, true. I've gone to the junkyard in a button down a few times (I wear em a few times a week) I just remember I have to be really careful when I do that. Also it helps if they're black/dark colors, oil stains still show but a little engine compartment dirt doesn't. Pants are obviously still a problem but I wear faded torn jeans at all times so who cares :dunno:

(not designer ones, they're my own private label...)
