THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Thanks - don't jynx me though :roflmao: things could still go wrong, the title search needs to come up clean, home inspection too (expect that to be fine), might have back taxes on it, gotta sign purchase and sale agreement and the title still... got my fingers crossed.

Scott - yeah, true. I've gone to the junkyard in a button down a few times (I wear em a few times a week) I just remember I have to be really careful when I do that. Also it helps if they're black/dark colors, oil stains still show but a little engine compartment dirt doesn't. Pants are obviously still a problem but I wear faded torn jeans at all times so who cares :dunno:

(not designer ones, they're my own private label...)
-np.

-i've got on a pair of jeans just like that right now :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I've been looking at how to wire in the heated seat option on the WJ seats, looks like they are wired into the WJ computer.

I found a few good references and wire diagram, might have to have Ken take a look/advise, as he is the NAC's resident EE.

You are dumb.

There is a relay underneath the seat. Talk to Adam.

That is all.

I was going to say, a heated seat would probably be nothing more than a relay, maybe a couple relays going through a simple circuit to regulate the power to the seat (regulate high vs low temp if that was an option). Mind you I have never looked at a heated seat circuit so I can't say for sure, but that would be my guess :gee:

On that note, WTF I got an email yesteday saying "your alarm system should be in stock late this week, please approve" (I am still waiting over a month later). So I approve it. Then today I get an email saying that it's ALREADY delayed again. I think it's time to cancel the order and shop for a different unit that is in stock (albeit a bit more expensive probably). I have a box full of relays, fuses, mosfets, op amps, wahr, resistors, my electronics toolbox with wire wraps (wont do me much good with this circuit), soldering iron, solder, etc just sitting next to my desk waiting for this damn thing to come in..

I know the HSM is in the base of the seat, but I've found mutliple mentions of this. I didn't say I have to make a friggen computer or anything, and Adam has ZJ seats, not WJ seats like I'll be getting.

Heated seat operation

There are three positions that can be selected with each of the heated seat switches: Off, Low, or High. When the top of the switch rocker is fully depressed, the High position is selected and the high position LED indicator illuminates. When the bottom of the switch rocker is fully depressed, the Low position is selected and the low position LED indicator illuminates. When the switch rocker is moved to its neutral position, Off is selected and both LED indicators are extinguished.

Both switches provide separate resistor multiplexed hard wire inputs to the BCM to indicate the selected switch position. The BCM monitors the switch inputs and sends heated seat switch status messages to the Heated Seat Module (HSM) or the Memory Heated Seat Module (MHSM) over the Programmable Communications Interface (PCI) data bus. The HSM or MHSM responds to the heated seat switch status messages by controlling the output to the seat heater elements of the selected seat. The Low heat position set point is about 97° F (36° C), and the High heat position set point is about 105° F (41° C).

sweet, my new lug nuts for the xj and my riding boots are getting delivered today.

hahahaha

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark - that looks annoying, I'd probably rip out the entire stupid thing and control it manually. I have absolutely no idea how to make PCI bus work (the PCI bus chrysler likes, not the one computer manufacturers use... damn acronyms) and last time I spent a few hours looking for docs on it I came up empty handed.

Also, lawyer just called and the title for the property is all screwed up. Why the XXXX did no one notice this till now, and how the hell do people get away with this bullshit?

You're overthinking this. It's the same setup in my truck. You don't need any of that crap. I guarantee you you can bypass the module or tap into a wire at the connector send straight power to the relay.

You don't need the switches/pigtails.

Exactly. Just put a simple relay and switch to it. If it gets to hot, shut it off. Simple.

:( Just out of curiosity, got a listing?

So what does that mean for you?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it's 146 pleasant st in southbridge.

The mortgage that got foreclosed was XXXXed apparently. Sloppy and perhaps even maliciously faked, it gives the address of the property that I wanted on the cover and the owners lived there, but the detailed paperwork describes a property they didn't even own which is located in Spencer. So the bank that foreclosed may NOT EVEN OWN the property they are trying to sell me, and somehow their foreclosure process did not detect this, nor did any of their work in the LAST THREE FAWKING YEARS.

How the hell did this happen and who can I kick in the balls for screwing up my attempted purchase? The fact that people get away with this kind of idiotic sloppy crap and then try to sell it is simply offensive.

EDIT: as for what it means to me, it means I wasted a week or so, likely can't buy a house I really liked, and now have a week less to find another place to buy before the end of May when I have to move out of my apartment.

:soapbox::soapbox::gonnablow

That BLOWS.

You've been stealing Marks luck lately. That sucks man.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That same mess happened to me when I was trying to buy the first property I looked at in Fitchburg (not the short sale), too. Except that time, the seller's agent discovered it BEFORE he accepted my offer, and I wasn't so pressed for time.

Seriously, how does every sleazebag in the country get away with this crap and yet I can't? Following the law is way overrated, I should just find a house I like, squat there, and then drag out the eviction process for a few years.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

btw, congrats on the house ken. :thumbup:i don't remember if i already said it or not

I cut the wires leading to the power heated seats in a saab before realizing I need them connected to move them forward to get to the rear bolts....
