THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

HOLY CRAP I only have 6 more days of classes left in my college career!!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wide enough for a dirt bike...

Come on dude, a vehicle trailer. 84" wide seems to be pretty standard.
Something like Colin's.
just sayin. i've seen some that are 6" narrower. I figured you'd need 80+"...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i go to parties sometimes until 4. it's hard to leave when you can't find the door.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

WTF kinda joints are you buying? You talking about all the ujoints? (driveshafts/axleshafts)
Yes, everything. I am at least getting good joints for the driveshafts. I have never replaced the joints in my front shaft (or at least there are a couple that I haven't replaced... maybe swapped out one of them) so I figure it's about time to do those before I beat on them too hard. Then I need to get a ZJ from shaft for my rear shaft and might as well swap new joints on that before installing.

So 6 for that, plus maybe 1-2 for spares.

Then axle shafts...

if you listen to these guys you'll start blowing ring gears. run the crappy joints and be happy with your easy to fix weak link.

That was my one thought. If I should go good or bad on my axle shaft u-joints.

Either way I am getting axle shafts from the JY for hte bigger joints. If I need to replace the joints before installing them I will. Plus if I get 2 sets of axle shafts from the JY (so I have a set of spares with big joints) I may have to buy even more.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Well at 30$ each, 8-10 joints would be $200-$300... Not that unreasonable.
Yeah, but 30 each is unreasonable. I can get Spicer 5-153Xs from AllJeep for $13.78 each with no NAXJA discount, just regular store price.

Also I hear that if you grease worn-out U-joints with WD-40, they last forever :shhh:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Duuude, thats fawking weird. I've had that song stuck in my head all day...
if you have joe walsh stuck in your head all day you should take his penis out of your mouth :gee:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Anyone with some free time, I'm looking for a trailer. I have a few weeks to get a good one.

Ideally I'm looking for a 16'-18', full wood decked, 10K GVW (7K, ok, but prefer 10K), tandem axle with dual electric brakes, slide in ramps, etc.

Been there, done that. I think I know of a couple more, Ill let you know.

careful, standard width on most is 72-78", thats why it took me a little time to find mine. Colins is nice, but you dont need a tilt deck and such, unessacery weight. even if you find something like mine, its easy enough to add a middle deck. im gunna put some removeable daimond plates in there

Tilt deck is not "needed" but its very nice when you have an old muscle car that sits somewhat close to the ground. You don't have to worry about scraping the headers or anything.

Just throwing that out there for Bill's GTO build.

:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I still have to talk to the people in charge that. One of them is Adam's cousin and the other is a kid that probably wont care. Either way I would really appreciate that engine stand

I've got a stand that you can have for free, no alignment required

fwiw, my red jeep fits pretty darn snug on colin's trailer...not much space, maybe a few inches to spare.

or a pickle :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh by the way, speaking of the pickle... I think I've pretty much decided that I'm going to get the EVAP junk taken care of on the jeep, get that beeotch a sticker, then sell the pickle and buy some toob. Any objections?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Colin, when are you planning to buy tube? Maybe if we buy combine our orders it would be a bit cheaper? :dunno: I don't know how much I'll be getting, I'm basically just planning to sell the pickle, then call the steel place and say "Gimmie $678.34 worth of 1.75 .120 DOM" ...basically, whatever I get from the car, I'll just get that much steel :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

All you can carry is next weekend, evap junk is lightweight, Holland's is fairly near you. What parts do you need (full list)? I can add them to my list of junk to pick up.

I just hope the evap canister on the 97+ is in the engine compartment, I forget if it is.
