Unless it needs to be some goofy strong alloy, I can handle that, I have a 3 footer of 5/8" that I only need about 2 feet of. Hell, I can probably bend it without heat... I bent my 1/2" to make some exhaust hangars with just my hands, a vice, and a hammer.

Sweetness. Doesn't have to be anything special.

Think if I get you some measurements tonight you can cut me off a piece? If you feel like bending it too I can get you some measurements for that as well.

I personally would still use heat, just cause it gives me a reason to pull out the torch. :thumbup: Made bending myself some fuel tank J-bolts simple.

Sure. I now have a larger hammer (did the 1/2" with a carpenter's hammer, now I have a big boy 4lb hand sledge...) and I'll be spending the whole night in the driveway with power tools making my neighbors hate me anyways :roflmao:

Side note: Anyone know what the going rate is for tube?? PM if you don't want to publicly advertise deals Just trying to get an idea of what I'm looking at. I know last summer when I looked into it, I seem to remember something like 3.20 a foot :dunno: I could be way off though :dunno:

I think I'm gonna be a hotshot and use all DOM. I guess I could do HREW for the interior stuff if I can save that much on it, but I kinda would rather just order X amount of DOM and not have to worry about ordering X amount of DOM and Y amount of HREW. I can just buy whatever I can afford and work with that. Less math. :laugh3:

I think I'm gonna throw a full WJ brake/knuckle/steering setup onto my list of junk for the all you can carry. Pretty sure it weighs under 50lbs... this is gonna be interesting, I bet I can tie everything to the tie rod and sling it over my shoulders.

I just bought 24 ft of 1.25" OD, 0.218" wall DOM. Price came out to $168 including tax I think.

Awesome. I love doorless. I fixed the sag in my drivers door but now it doesn't want to lift off anymore :doh: I gotta pull some hinges from the JY and slap them onto my rig instead of the tabs I welded onto my current (wallowed out) hinges.

my xj has pretty much completely transformed in the past couple months.

last october it was completely stock

two weeks ago it had 3.55's open/open-now 4.56's locked

ditched the grille guard for a real bumper

and now im doorless, the sweet sweet smell of accomplishment

also almost scored free chevy 1ton axles in the same trip!!!! dude woulda given them away if they were removed without his help. i got super excited and went to look at them, i turned the corner and saw 8 lugs and the rear was a 14bolt. then i realized the front was only a 3/4 ton poopwad. took the wind right outta my sails.
