Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I aint complaining about the PS, it steeres almost as easy as the Jeep. I just don't like how the car drives and it has the gear ratios of a 5 speed but no 5th gear...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

motor has 6 qrts of fresh oil and new filter, driveplate is in, trans is ready to go in, need to go get hose clamps and food

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I just laid under my Jeep for a while (after going for a drive around the block) and realized that something is leaking at my drivers side front shaft. I have a strange feeling it might be my caliper is leaking or something. Damn, just something else to replace I suppose. Makes sense since my brakes felt really weak so I wouldn't be surprised if I only have one brake working. I gotta find a shop that's open nights/wkends to press on bearings.

Edit: I am curious if maybe my D30 axle seals are shot. god damnit. time to go clean everything off and see if the leakage comes back

Pulled and hid 2 giant e450 box van turbos, 2 wj abs modulators, and a wj booster, I think I'll just pull some spare shafts and TCUs next saturday and roll out. There are very few XJs in the lot and right now they are all 4.0s. I did see some rockwells/loader axles and a whole bunch of big commercial trucks with axles though, it seems like that yard has some of everything

nice. Any other WJ boosters to be had? And you didn't happen to see any old ford cars did ya? I want to grab some spare axle shafts for my 9" but I think the only cars they came in were torinos and maybe some stangs, etc... I think I may have to pick up another set of alloys for spares :dunno:

And I wouldn't be surprised if 'what is there, is there'... I would think that they are doing this to clear the yard of all parts and then will get rid of alot of sh*t and bring new stuff in. Maybe I am wrong, idk. Any pre-97 XJs with a clean(ish) grey interior? I just need the carpet and headliner

Nice, all easy stuff. Shouldn't be long now  Taking a video of the first start?

I think I might buy this. I really like gearwrench stuff. They have some good reviews and for what I'm going to use taps for I bet they'll be awesome. Either these or borrow Adam's depending where I'm at money wise.

And be sure to note, people frequently purchased that tap and die set along with a set of bookshelf speakers...

Though that set is tempting. I have been thinking about getting a full set and for that price I may have to jump on that one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Craftsman's set is $300 and about the same as the gearwrench one when on sale. If their taps & dies are comparable to their hand tools then they're better than craftsman...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

3 hours to get to NJ this morning, 6 to get back :banghead:
the 2 cases of yuengling i picked up when I was down there make it worth it though

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

actually looking at that set again I almost bought the that same tap wrench last week. Then I realized that it wasn't big enough (I need a tap wrench for a half inch shank).

I just sent Bill a silly text message. I wonder if he'll respond...
