THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I got about 4' 3" of 3"x [just shy of] 1/4".. maybe it is 1/4", though I think 3/16" rings a bell for some reason. Doubt that will help you much but I got it if needed.
Thanks, but it looks like Rob & Rob are going to come to my rescue.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Cool. Looks like I will continue to slowly cut it down and use it to practice melting metal back together

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I wanna weld stuff together.
Xamillion, my welder's in storage and my drill press is at a friend's place, otherwise I'd be welding up a frame out of poop pipe... gotta get my ass in gear tomorrow

Not sure if you thought I was kidding or not, but I wasn't. Just an FYI :)
I always figured it was a no-no everywhere, but I knew it was for sure a no-no in the den. I try to avoid it when I'm not being too lazy to transload to imageshack.

i need a new angle grinder. the wires on mine are split and sparking. dewalt or milwaukee? i've used both and can't decide.
replace the cord, it's not too hard and comes out great if you use heatshrink. I accidentally caught the cord on mine with a wire wheel, chewed a 6" piece to shreds, threw sparks everywhere and tripped the breaker. Cut it out, spliced it up with heatshrink and solder and it's as good as new.

14b shave pics
might just be me but it looks like you took too much off, seems like the ring gear is about 1/8" into the plate if the plate will be flush with the edges there. I thought you were gonna use the bridgeport for that shave job?

what kinda sucks about my 14b is that i have a newer style housing. they have all the ribs on the top and bottom, they piss me off. bottom ones screw with my shave and plating job i wanna do and the top ones will need to be all notched for the truss i wanna do. i may just cut them all off
aren't the ribs just for cooling? I'd cut em off

im undecided if i wanna cut the ring gear, i dont really wanna if i dont have to. the bottom piece will have the inside notched out the clear uncut ring gear right now. i have a piece of 3/4" plate that will have at least 3/8" thickness under the teeth at the thinest spot. i was gunna use the bridgeport, but i got bored and restless. ill use it to square everything up later like the mounting surfaces.

cooling and some extra support i guess. with the plating and truss work, im not concerned with losing them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

On a side note, this recent VW convo prompted me to search for RWD foxes... I (somehow) ended up finding these whiny bitches racing.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

driveplate to crank bolts, everything else i dont give a shit about touque rating

ah. what diameter are the bolts? 12mm? i'd guess that 50 is probably more accurate, but i'd go 75 all around just to be safe. as long as they are evenly torqued to tight enough you should be all set.

I might ask for money on his part to be honest. To find a 91 Fox in the condition I have is almost impossible.
if your fox has a clutch pedal then keep it. if not, ditch that bitch for the 5spd
It does but it's a 4-speed with a 8v 1.8 and it came from the factory with out power steering.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm definitely with carmelo. I know you're like 35 lbs but no PS still isn't a big deal. The girl I was seeing before I was with Mia was right about 100lbs and drove a 2wd 93 s-10 with a 5 speed and no PS and I never heard her complain once. What's that say about you? .!.:D.!.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I drove a truck on 38.5s with no power steering for like 2 weeks. What's that say about me? Drove that shit to work everyday.
