THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It has P/S right? Now my VW has NO power options. The only option that car came with was A/C. It doesnt even have a pass mirror.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Power brakes? :lecture::D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My comanche didn't come with a radio stock i'm pretty sure. There was even a plug where the antenna was supposed to run and nowhere to put speakers behind the seats where I think should atleast have enough space to fit them.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have seen bare mj's come with a plalstic plate where the radio belongs. but all the wiring is behind it

Hey Ross and Adam. I remember you guys remarking about my set of SK sockets/ socket wrench when you were down, saying they were better quality than you've seen before.

I forgot to tell you, that is because they are at least 60 years old. Those were my grandfathers sockets. They work awesome, I'm a little pissed my 13/16" broke the other weekend.

they just don't make stuff like they used to... reminds me of something I found out when Mad River Glen rebuilt their single chair lift. They needed some replacement pieces for some of the tower lattice work and simply couldn't find anyone selling the required metal stock, they had the existing parts tested and it was stronger than anything made in those sizes today. The lift was built shortly after WWII and the only thing they could guess at was that most of the metal that went into the lift was recycled armor plate or something. Might be an urban legend, but pretty cool.

Also, I woke up early enough to get to the JY before work for the first time in forever... it was great. I have almost everything I need to make the air compressor now (just ECU and connector left, plus everything not sourced from a jeep.) I hit up the Ford section again, those fuses I pulled came from mid to late 90s F-150s. 94 does not have them, 96/97/98 do, 00 does not. I'm not sure about 95 and 99 though, someone who knows the F150 changeover years better than me can probably make an educated guess at this.

EDIT: I got:
* alternator field coil plug (hopefully it's the same 6cyl vs 4cyl)
* ICM harness plugs
* MAP sensor and plugs
* gauge cluster and plugs
* RENIX diagnostic connectors

I'm gonna end up doing a 100% custom wiring harness for it... this is gonna be fun

Also, if anyone wants an NP242 with 21 splines, there is one in the red late-80s Limited right at the front of the XJ row at Sam's.

my father's tools are all craftsman and he purchased when he was my age. his sockets are much better quality. his ratchets have the thumb wheel on the back, but they don't lock the socket onto it. he prefers it that way, i like the way mine hold it on. i wish he bought more of the stuff before it went to crap.

My dad was a mechanic way back when so he has a sweet collection of snap-on/craftsmen stuff.

His monkey wrench dominates everything it touches.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Old tools are better period. Even china made better tools than craftsman nowadays. The ratchets had smoother handles and better gears. Whenever I find I working old tool, I cherish it. I can brake any craftsman product as easily as any other chinese crap(which is why I buy so much chinese crap).

Also Mark's sawzall is awesome. If you guys haven't seen it it's case is fully metal. It kind of sucks at cutting now but I bet it used to work awesome. Why can't they still make power tools entirely out of metal? Awesome idea. No one better not tell me so it's easier to keep me from getting electrocuted.

I'd like to take this moment to thank Adobe for updating their PDF reader, adding a good deal of useless features, making it crash 4 times a day with various divide by zero and null pointer errors, and completely breaking firefox compatibility.

:soapbox: DAMN YOU ADOBE :gonnablow thank you for making my life difficult.

I knew there was a reason that I have been ignoring those updates on every computer I touch. I just know these things... :laugh3:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Delcity order in.

25 ft 1AWG welding cable
Plenty of 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2" heavy duty copper terminals
4ft of 1/2" and 3/4" heat shrink tubing
Plenty of solder slugs (can't wait to try these)

Probably not going to do any of this until the harness is actually in the MJ, but it also looks like I can bypass the PDC and run the 175A fuse by itself.

No thanks Colin, I don't really want anything for my wiring upgrades...thanks for asking though!

:dunno: I didn't know you were doing it that soon...? All that cost me about $141.

Your terminal ends will be different than mine, I had to measure all of them to be sure.
