THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im thinkin of ordering some joints and some knuckles

Pssst......one of the vendors on Pirate has free shipping and a deal going on a certain set of orange thinngys

so heres the plan, im gonna run 2.5" Johnny joints on both ends of all my links wich will be 2x2x.25 box tube, and for shits and giggles im gonna make the trackbar from the same shit

Sounds like a plan.
You might run into packaging issues with that large a panhard though.

I was gunna do the same with Ballistic joints. I figure since ill be pushing the frame side bracket a few inches down the rail it could be made to fit bracket wise pretty easy. Packaging issues might come into play with the size of materail used for the actaul track bar to the upper area of the center section.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I guess part of my dad's flatbead on his new(to him) tow truck broke. I told him a know I kid named Ross that can weld it just as long as the welder is big enough to weld the steel that needs to be welded. He took a rain check :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:dunno: was that the phone call this morning? Sorry, i had a bar in my hands.

Nah, I was calling you back on the welder. I think my dad is going to get it fixed at a shop tomorrow or try to. I didn't know if you were working tomorrow so I didn't bother pushing to see if I could set something up to see if you could do it.

i think it may be ok, the frt axle will be pushed forward 2" and the tb will be mountedabove the axle instead of in frt of it so i think it should clear the steering

It wasn't so much clear the steering as it was the top of the center section on the axle at full bump as Ross mentioned.

ahh, well the plan is to mount the jj as close to the frame ass possible for clearence and less stress on the frame rail, not sure if it will work or not, if i cant make the trackbar out of the materials then ill just use em for the traction bar

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Why worry about my driving? Just think, ill have a 30 ton crane with a 165 foot boom, im gunna find some cool stuff to drop and smash :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

oh ok. ill probly pick it up this week at some point

Can't wait to weld with a "real welder" I have plenty of 1/4" laying around to start practicing. I will soon have the necessary tools and skills to chop two feet off the Honcho and weld it back together:guitar:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Wow. That's even more bagged out than mine.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So the rmv just rejected my registration renewal because i paid 5$ too much (even though their website said it cost 25$). I guess i should be glad... not like I was waiting to get it anyway... and not like having an expired registration stopped me from riding at all... they just gotta update their sh*t

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I read that earlier. My buddy and I want to do something like that some day. This friend andd I have been talking about building a lemons car for well over a year now (hell we talked about building cheap racers and tearing around sand pits top gear style as soon as we got our licences:D), then he moved to TX so it's up to me to build a car and he will visit to race up here, we actually talked about building an XJ, then someone the team on here beat us to it. problem is I have to have a house of my own before I can have a stripped down race car in back

Oh and I'm pissed, my father sold my brothers 99 taurus for $500 when it had some issues but they were all stuff like heater didnt work etc which wouldn't matter in a 'race car'. And it broke 2 weeks after I did the rear brakes on it... and never got paid back for the parts. Damnit! When I heard that he sold it that cheap I was pissed and he said "yeah I thought of you using it afterwards, oh well, was too late by then". :banghead: was so close to a good lemons car esp since it had tons of good parts to sell and make go fast $$ back.

I have a car that would be perfect for lemons, a 98 saab 9000 that I used in a double figure 8 race last year won my heat race, got disqualified for rough driving, the only problem is I will be in Virginia the weekend they are in stafford

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

could always sell it to someone.. for example, myself.

for somewhere in the range of... say, $500.

while maybe making donations to a team, likely a team from MA, to put (for example) a cage, tires, etc on the car...

and then, ya know, be a racing member of the team and come visit fot the wkend when they are up at stafford

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

or I could save it for next year, if it survives the figure 8 races this year, I know there are going to be a lot of Willimantic cops gunning for me, so it may not make it out in 1 piece.
I guess I need to get a new job that gives me access to junk cars again

edit: never mind, Just reading the rules again, some things seem new like requiring a windshield. It might be a bit tough to get one back into the car at this point.
