THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i'd rather a 6" river in my driveway than 4" in my basement, but i got the latter anyways.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll take both please, that way when the power goes out I can set up a hydro dam in the driveway to power a sump pump in the basement

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Sweet this guy is giving me first shot at the Jeep I was looking at on CL. He said he got a ton of emails about it which I'm sure he did bc he listed it for 750. Hopefully will pick it up Saturday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

got my rear axle installed last night, with the 4.56's i can do 75 on the highway now without pushing the pedal to the floor

with the 5.38's and 35's i find myself going 85 mph without knowing it

its nutty

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I find myself doing the same thing on 225s and 3.55s :looney: I'm so used to 33s and 3.55s now, it has biased me into way too much skinny pedal usage

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it has begun. last night i got a phone call from someone at NU calling begging for alumni donations and money for the "senior gift".

aaaah northeastern you have plenty of my money!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No kidding, right? I still get that crap from WPI.

I and my parents gave you WAY too much money already. Wait till I have paid off my loans and then I might consider it...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i told the girl i'm pretty broke right now i dont have a job lined up, and she was like "well, it's more the action of donating, so if you can do just $5 or $10, how can i have your payment info?". i won't see anything from donating to an alumni fund that bought a stupid smart car to drive around on campus (what's wrong with a golf cart?) , so screw them!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I refuse to donate to my school due to how much waste I saw in the system. However I will donate directly to the engineering dept. My entire engineering class said we wanted nothing to do with donating to the school but wanted to help the engineering dept since it was the only part of the school worth donating to.. So my engineering professors have set up a way to donate directly to the engineering dept.

I will probably end up driving out to the school next fall and seeing how the labs are doing and what professors are still around (and how they think the school has gone since I graduated). If they think it's being managed well and hasn't gone to sh*t I will make a donation direct to the dept. If they think its been going downhill then I may not.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

does anyone else have a JCR steering box spacer and if you do did you have issues with the hold that goes through the frame towards the firewall being about 1/2" too low?

i don't have that, but i got the plates that go on the outside and two of the 3 holes were off more than 3/8". i filled them with weld and redrilled. should have just made my own from scratch.

i get calls from umass still. i foolishly told them i'd donate a while back. i recently decided otherwise.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm

i wasnt impressed with the holes they had punched in it but then again for 35 bux im not complaining too much

i just welded the hole up, threw it in the bridgeport and made a new one

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ugh i want a bridgeport tooo :(

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not even thinking about procuring more tools till I get this house... just plain can't afford to, I need to save my money.

anyone have any idea how I might get a loan for 20k WITHOUT it being a mortgage? The property is not financeable and won't be for about a month, I just need to find the cash to buy it outright, fix it till it's financeable really quickly, then get a mortgage on it and pay back the temp loan. I have pretty decent credit for a recent college grad but I am new to dealing with banks.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a personal loan, but that would be a terrible interest rate (~14-16%)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that's yearly interest not monthly, right? I can probably deal with that if it means I get the place vs not getting it. Know of any good banks for that?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

that's annual interest. try calling around. don't tell them that you'll be paying it off early. some places have a penalty fee for that though, so look out. i dunno where. i've heard of people having luck with citizens bank.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i feel like travis hasn't been posting in this thread very much lately, but he still has about 800 more posts than i do (in this thread alone).
