My problem is that if a have a thing with a girl for a while and she thinks she finds someone better and moves on, I let her; however so far a vast majority of the ex's have come back eventually saying they made a mistake and wanted something different but realized they were wrong (one left for a guy in a band, another left for some other reason that i forgot, etc)

My problem is that after a while I say 'fawk em' and put that girl behind me, once I put them behind me then there is no chance for them again. Recently, like 2 weeks ago, I had one of my better ex's say that if she lived around me now she would def be dating me, my only response was "except I'm not interested in dating anymore". She seemed pretty shocked at that one. :laugh: Down side is a I can force them into my past, so some that I actually should have given a 2nd chance I felt no emotion for once they came back. I have been able to do so ever since my first girl who I was with (for almost 2 years). took me forever to get over her but then I thought about it, and told myself I was done. I have been able to tell myself I am done whenever I want since then. :dunno: Kindof sucks. I burned a lot of bridges. Most for the good, a few that I wonder about from time to time. Too bad.

Woah woah woah... how do I get help welding on stiffeners? Do I have to bitch more? Do I actually have to wheel a few times first and make "friends"? :puke: :roflmao:

No wonder I didn't see that deal, either A) it wasnt on CL or B) it's cause its in NJ and I limited my search radius to CT and eastern NY. I have been shopping CL quite often for a new(ish) XJ for cheap that requires some simple work to be a solid DD again. Then again I heavily limit myself since it needs to be a 5 speed... Maybe I should start including autos in my searches..

Haha yea it's in Jersey and on CL. I just use search tempest and search cherokee - grand. Usually do a 100 mile search which actually includes CT. I wouldn't mind a 5spd and was lookin at a 95 2dr with a 5spd but if this is decent it's too good of a deal to pass up on.

Oh and thanks for the tip about the AC comp/ clutch. I'll have to check it out.

I was looking at a 98 or 99 2 dr 5 speed with vent windows in either RI or CT. Kinda pissed that I didnt jump on it but at the same time I am looking for another "deal of the decade". I paid way too much for my XJ and about the right price for my altima... my two motorcycles were not "necessary" purchases so I could spend time shopping and got both for absolute steals.

So now that I dont "NEED" an XJ I am shopping in the sub $1200 price range. Trying to pick a 98/99 XJ up that needs simple* work.. then make it work, sell the altima, and DD the XJ till it dies. As I said, my problem is that I immediately pass anything automatic. I should have jumped on that 98 or 99 2 dr 5 speed. yeah it needed work but IIRC it was $1650, not TOO much more than I wanted to spend an EXACTLY what I wanted. Oh well, life goes on.

(*simple = simple to those who know what the hell they are doing)

Agreed, but if she aint a keeper (i.e. not any girl that requires this kind of logic) I say don't even bother. Might just be me though, in fact it probably is :roflmao:

I'm staying out of that whole mess till I figure out where I'm moving in 2-3 months. Don't have the time for it, don't have the money for it, don't really feel like finding someone I might want to stay with only to move a much larger distance away a few months later or something.

The wheels I just put on two legs of my desk (built with 3/4" ply and 2x4s, has something like 2-300lbs of computer/ham radio/electronics/jeep gear on it right now) are all kinds of screamingly ghetto. They're casters and held on with two out of four bolts (one is only one bolt, with a deck screw through the other hole) such that the axis of the caster wheel is right under the end of the leg... if I move it in one direction. If I move it the other way I'm SCREWED! and they will fall off. Good thing I have to move it a couple feet and then put it back down.

I'm lifting the other end with my hydro jack and dragging it just far enough that the ghetto handyman my landlord hired can do his thing and hopefully not have to come back after. This is the guy who 'fixed' my shower faucet knobs with mighty putty, deck screws, and the wrong manufacturer's knobs, so I'm not holding out much hope.

That's the other part that sucked for me. I had 2 perfect women that seemed pretty much a good-to-go thing... but I told myself I wouldn't commit to anything until I found out where my job was (aka if I was moving away from the MA area or not). Then I found out I was working in VA and decided pursuing anything would be bad... Then I lost my job in VA after 3 months and ended up back in MA but both of them were already unavailable to say the least. shit happens, life goes on. I just find it hard as hell to find decent women after college, or maybe I am just doing it wrong. Probably the latter.

Yea a 98/99 2 dr 5spd would be an awesome DD. I'm picking up this one as a DD to replace my 2 door auto. Too much rust and rot and not enough time/ experience to weld it all up. Was looking for something fairly cheap. I might wind up putting the 2door back to stock for a while and maybe let my sister DD it in November when she gets her license although I doubt my parents will want to keep it on their insurance.

summation of events last night

-get home from work, find that my birthday present arrived (camera flash from my parents), yay
-go downstairs to get my D300 case, find flooded basement (again) WTF
-hit pothole so hard that the sunglasses holder falls out of the center console on my roof in my VW. something is bent too. MORE WTF
-sandblast D300 and make it home with nothing else going wrong.

Dude, stop hitting pot holes and/or curbs or whatever you hit last time.

I thought I bent a wheel when I hit a pot hole (well the shop told me I might have) but I found out last night that it's not bent, so that was nice. I guess I just need an alignment and the guy at NTB said that since I have 50k miles on the car now the suspension is starting to get a bit weak. Seems a bit pre-mature for suspension wear to me, but I guess I drive it somewhat hard so I can kindof see that :rolleyes:

Oh, and while at NTB I found these gems.
