THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$$ isn't a concern...tell him to buy booze and food, that'll make me much happier :farmer: I'm pretty busy with a few of the upcoming weekends, but definitely be sure to post up when he'll be doing that and I'll make an effort to show up and lend a helping hand. Either that or I'll show up and :speepin:

:D

We're totally going to stand around drinking beer and breaking other people's tools:greensmok

Begster said:
-take rear axle apart and replace pinion and carrier bearings. NOPE!!!
-make disk brake brackets fit, cut old bearings off axle shafts and press new ones on with new backing plates. 5 MINUTES!!!
-replace hard brake lines that are rusted and about to blow 8 MINUTES!!!
-strip paint/coating/LCA brackets off frame rails, weld on frame stiffeners. NOPE!!!
-weld on Clayton brackets, combine clayton crossmember with TNT crossmember for awesomeness crossmember NOPE!!!
-move axle forward/ make sure steering is no longer hitting trackbar bracket NOPE!!!
-install rock rails 12 MINUTES!!!
-see if drive line shop can balance rear driveshaft after I dented it. NOPE!!!
-install travis's front bumper that I'm not giving him back. W/E!!!
-etc.

Why are you saying nope to half that stuff? Its all necessary for my jeep to drive again.

You can borrow the shortened stock bumper off the red Jeep so its not an attraction to the coppers having no front bumper....but I want my JCR back for the red Jeepy

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Keith, I'll show up and wire your horn to your left turn signal.

Mark - I view brake lines as the most important thing on that list. If it won't go, there is not as much likelihood of breaking things as if it's already going and won't stop, so making it capable of stopping safely is priority #1 IMO.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mmmm, beer. I'm pissed that we didn't have cornhole and beers after work. Maybe if the weather is nice tomorrow we can do it then... if not I am going to the packie and supplying myself. And friday... definitely going to the bar for dinner/drinks.

:anon: I really should fix the rear brakes on the MJ. I've got front brakes and rear wheel drive...

Jon, I like the phrase "wenching and wrenching", it has a nice ring to it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I would def stop by for a meet and drink beer event session while playing with tools on someone elses rig.

However how long till he orders his lift and wants it installed? Between now and then I have to get my Jeep back and on the road so I can show up in a Jeep. That will involve getting the Jeep back from the shop, measuring the axle flange bolt pattern, pick up disk brakes parts from JY, order the necessary spacer parts of ebay, install disk brakes on rear axle, brake in gears, and probably an inspection. So I may need a couple weeks  or I could show up in a car again

Just go to disks. I gotta stop by the JY and pick up a backing plate, and maybe caliper if I can find an OK one from a crown vic for my rear axle sometime soon. I'm thinking that I may have to head down to self serve auto salvage in freetown since apparently all their cars are up on stands so the brake stuff won't be sitting in the mud and may be in decent condition

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm buying an 8.25 with brand new drums on the 27th/28th that will be going into the MJ.

PS - Keith, if all goes well I'll be buying an hpd30 with 4.10s on Monday, so I won't try and kill you over one at the all you can carry :gee: in fact if Ross is too busy carrying dumptrucks I'll carry the thing out for you though I can't handle the 30 and an 8.8 at the same time.
