THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What clutch kit should i get? ive seen good things about the Luk one's...

let me know when you decide, especially if you find a place you can get a deal on by buying more than one.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm seeing them for 150 (stock unit) 275 (gold) on dial-a-clutch, but that's just a bit of googling, no real experience

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

NV4500 should be in any 5-speed up to mid 00's, right?

And I am def holding out until I get a 5 speed. I drove my fathers SUV for a couple days last week and hated every minute of it. Only 5 speed I can find on autotrader/CL right now seems to be a $20k standard cab. I know I want AT LEAST an extended cab and no way I want to spend 20k for a '03 truck right now. When I have time to shop... I take my time :D I didn't have much time to shop for my car and I made a bad choice. My 2 motorcycles? Both great & CHEAP purchases. I like time.

Edit: but something like this: http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1579060367.html

Has also been drawing my attention lately. Not that in particular, but same idea.

Yeah, I believe the 6-spd started in 00 or 01...5-spd was an option apparently (at least it says so on my window sticker) all the way to 03 I think?

I'd go with the "quad cab" for the dodge. Their version of quad cab was like mine, basically an extended cab, in the 2nd gens, and the 3rd gens are full quad cabs. Mega cab is too much IMO. I rarely carry many people, and for short trips the backseat works fine for people.

People complain about the 24V CTDs due to the VP44 (lift pump) however I haven't had an issue with mine and are really only a problem when you want 500+ HP out of them. If you keep it stock or a mild tuner, it should be fine.

Also, 5-spd/6-spd will get you a D80 out back vs a D70 in the autos. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have one. it probably needs new joints and ball. yours if you want it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha, right now all vehicles i own are barely driveable.

-red jeep has some intense clutch/tranny/dshaft vibes from 2nd to 4th
-black jeep has a weak pedal from the new calipers and needs to be bleed more, rear tire also goes flat every couple of days
-nova has a slipping tranny with only a semi working 1st gear.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:gee: i forget the stocker shaft doesn't have a SYE. it's yours if you want it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

come end of summer ill be on the look out for a nice 01 or 02 CTD 5spd, wich is so getting dual 4" stacks with flappers:D

All useful info. I would definitely be getting a manual, hopefully 5 speed. I am starting to think that once I figure out my house hunting situation I and/or my car situation I have to buy 2 vehicles, sell one, and then stop shopping

glad I'm not the only one :D

XJ: blown tranny, randomly decides when it's going to slip a little, when it's going to lock the torque converter properly, when it's going to hit the rev limiter going uphill @ 80mph due to slipping a LOT

MJ: transmission front pump seal likes to leak oil if I stop, brakes have about half a cup of air in them from what I can tell - pedal goes 6" before it actually brakes. One of the lug studs on the d35 is busted off and another of the lug nuts on the same hub is on so tight I'm afraid I will break it if I touch it again. 8.25 swap needs to happen ASAP.

oh, so the xj build is going on the back burner again? .!. :D .!.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I am going to try and get my XJ on full widths for the beginning of the summer. Or just go the easy route and gear the 30... but idk. still thinking that one through. As I have said several times, probably going full widths.

Hopefully I will soon find out that the charger down the road is not a Hemi... because if it's not, I don't want it anymore :laugh3: IF it is a Hemi there is a 75% chance the Jeep will be sold to fund my purchasing of the charger. Though if I can pick up the charger for a steal of a price then I will keep both and put one of them back in storage until I get my own place.

Sell the altima to pick up a CTD mid summer to trailer my Jeep around (if needed, if the Jeep is street ready then I will just drive it everywhere)

Pick up an old fox body stang or trans am or something for cheap as a beater car that I can work on and drive during the summer. Just throw new suspension, maybe a bit of engine/drivetrain work (to get it running well/reliably), and clean up the interior... Because as much as I would love a truck... I kinda like a car and tearing through corners (yeah I will get more tickets in a car but oh well. I have been lucky and haven't got one that stuck yet:D) So I will have a car, a Jeep, and a winter driver/tow rig.

That sound like an ideal garage for someone like me I think. One reliable vehicle that can tow my two pieces of junk home whenever they break down :thumbup:

That MJ needs a 5 speed.... and an LS1, but it's OK to start with the 5 speed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

No one else is home... today sucked HARDCORE at work. I think it's time for a soco100 and coke. Oooh, and I have a bit of lime left from the last time I made gin and tonic's.. my lucky day! :D

Edit: Wow I have been a post whore. At least I realized my dirty ways and amended it slightly by making this an "edit" :dunno:
