THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hey that's not bad haha. did you check the pattern? (i assume you've done this before... but you never know)

all had to do was backlash and carrier bearing preload as i was simply installing a new carrier

gear pattern is spot on with the old pattern

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

sweet.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

And as of today my Jeep is no longer street legal...kinda depressing. My mom is returning the plates later this morning.

that stinks... i'm turning my plates in this week too.

YOU FOOLS!!!! ill never take the plates off black jeep again. see what insurance has for low mileage discounts. im changing my plan over to under 5000 miles a year and the price is like a quarter/third of what is now.

Don't do that, either of you! How dumb can you be? Colin, nothing to problematic is stopping you from getting a sticker.

X2. colin, just go to easton gas, they dont care. hell, they passed me:D

It's not a cost issue, it just makes no sense to keep it on the road.

1. I have a trailer at my disposal 99% of the time (my dad only uses it for Carlisle).

2. We never wheel at class 6 roads anymore, so no reason to have insurance.

3. I'd rather not risk getting pulled over by a cop for my jeep and writing me up for everything in the book.

I'm not worried about getting a sticker.

Blew up a strut on my way to school this morning. So I drove it home dragging it's a$s and took my dad's Sonoma to the VW parts store 5 minutes from my house, where they told me that it'll cost $60 for both rear struts and when it's fixed they want to buy it from me. Looks like I know where my car's going in the spring. :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so, about 2 and a half years ago, i broke my nose playing softball. i set it myself and never went to get it checked out. i guess i got lucky because it works just like it did before. no deviated septum or anything... but i had a tiny piece of bone come out of the skin in my nostril this morning. the only thing i can think of is that it chipped off and slowly worked its way out over the last 2 and a half years.
I have a deviated septum, I was born with it.

So what? I'll put money down that I'll wheel TWICE as much as Anthony and Mark COMBINED this year. And I've got a LOT to do... :D
I'll put money down that you care TWICE as much as I do about that.

Side note: Adam and I are going to poop some solder on my radiator on Sunday. If all else fails, I'm going to have to order a new CSF on Monday to have it in time for Saturday.
I have that stock one out of my red one if you are in a pinch.

i'm already all set on the 5x5.5 rollers... my buddy ned gave a set to travis who lent them to mark. so i'm getting them now.
Did you need the tires, or just the rims on those? (3/4 don't hold air for more than a day or two).

3. I'd rather not risk getting pulled over by a cop for my jeep and writing me up for everything in the book.
As opposed to having him inpound it when he finds out you don't have a registration at a trail?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those are some really neat axles partway down... think I saw an XJ on mogs on here somewhere actually. I wonder what gearing they have, and that third member + weird driveshaft housing would be interesting to attach to an XJ...

I went to pick up shocks for the MJ last night and the guys at AAP were like "wait, a 91 comanche? An ELIMINATOR? Can we see it?" and then spent like 15 minutes looking at it and whatnot in the parking lot. It was pretty amusing, seeing as I bought the thing for less than a grand and it's beat to hell... right now.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I could have sworn RC required it, but it looks like they only require it for street-legal vehicles.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Please tell me how Chris (Vetteboy) drove at the park last year if that is the case.
I didn't know he did, and right before I posted that (checked their page to see if I was right) I found out that it's only required for street legal vehicles. That's what their rules/regs page says anyways :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Not a trail if you're not using 4L.

:D

Oh, you do need 4wd at times. (I've crawled down the beach in 2wd not knowing I was in 2wd, and found out when I tried backing up the berm).

But I do have some pictures out on the back trails, where you DO need 4wd. But then again, you can only get permission to be back there if you're cool like me.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You can use 4L on a beach. Doesnt help anything at all but you can...

It helps to pull the Ford F250 out of the mess they got themselves in, or the F150, or the Jeep, or the many of cars I've had to pull out.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Mark is the coolest.
