If you're ticket doesn't get you an insurance surcharge idk if I would fight it (unless you have a pretty good chance of winning). It pretty much becomes a double or nothing gamble, guess that's up to you :dunno: If there is an insurance surcharge for whatever the ticket is for I would def fight it.

what violation is not a surcharge now a days?

I thought only moving and seatbelt violations got you surcharges. I couldn't think of what would get you a $35 ticket. figured it might have been parking or something. I know the minimum speeding violation is $75, stop sign is $50, I think seatbelt is $25... I just can't think of any moving violation that would run you $35, though i am sure I am forgetting something.:dunno:

If the front were 4.88s I would be all over that. But alas, it's not. Might be worth a couple hundred to me :eyes::laugh3:

improper equipment, (no fender flares) which i think is a moving violation?

every ticket ive got was a moving violation, i cant name one that is not. except for parking tickets.

I would give the insurance company a call. I THINK that MIGHT be a non-moving violation.

Per that link the maximum number of surcharge points is 2... not sure where the cutoff is. I thought I heard that improper equipment could be a 0 point offense.

Edit: Eh, the more I look it might be everything while moving... idk.

exactly, tell me why i should be surcharged because my jeep emissions is better than a 1973 ford f150. but i have a black R on mine because a vaccum leak and the f150 is exempt.

With the latest changes the surcharge may be up to your insurance agency. Sometime in '08 (I think) insurance was changed to a deregulated industry so the agency can decide what you surcharged for. Some agencies may have a higher premium but not hit you with surcharges for everything. Other agencies may be cheaper with more strict surcharges. give your insurance agent a call and ask.

I know the feeling... I can't believe I am currently planning on driving down to TN to buy an axle if it is for sale in time. Currently it is pending sale but I am waiting on a PM incase it the sale falls through. It could be a week or 2 before I know though.

So on that note, unless i can pick up a front axle with 4.88s before the 13th it doesn't look like I will be wheeling then HOPEFULLY I can at least get the 9" rebuilt so i can drive up and hang out with a Jeep for the day. I am going to talk to my neighbor today or tomorrow since he owns the shop down the road from my house. I may just have him do the carrier bearings if he can/would want to do that. For all I know he may want to avoid a modified rig/axle. :dunno:

the lockrite was having issues, its currently open with spiders. welded spiders are also available.

How cheap is cheap for you? If it's going to cost more than what the gears cost, I'll just buy new gears.
