THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm not sold on hacking up the factory track bar mount on the CTD (welded to the frame/crossmember) though I might, IDK. I could always just buy the bracket and build the track bar.

Also, I need to bend the trackbar no matter what to clear the diff cover. AKA I'd be buggin Bill.

Is the one that you'd buy welded to the frame or is it bolted? Why not make a nice bracket that bolts to like a billion holes on the frame? Or you could buy the bracket...

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE shut up!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scott, that MJ used to be posted for $15k.

adam, i know... i don't think it is though. i think the bolt that mounts the upper link to the knuckle is bent... it's only in single shear.

gotta love designed weak points...and intact rims and tires. We had an '08 Altima come into the shop because she hit a curb and her lower a-arm (aluminum) was broken. (almost in half)

yeah, that bites. i'm still driving mine. i didn't hit it that hard either... thank god. have you ever worked on a 06+ GTI? how is the rear alignment set? (cam bolts, threaded adjusters, etc)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

a pothole took out my XJ's passenger LCA bracket

hmmm... I wonder if the username IH8RUST is taken

Yeah, I knew it used to be more I just couldn't remember how much it was. That still doesn't change the fact that i cant (or wont) afford it right now. Though it is very nice and may very well be worth that current asking price.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just about to pull the trigger on these 7100s and shoot out some paypal. i think i'll hang on to them even though they're a bit long and once i figure out where i'm goign to land when i graduate probably get a bit more lift and long arms and they'll be SICK

the short body 12's have a similar collapsed length to the 10's and i have run 10's on my xj with a 3" lift

jusss sayin

and erverybody runs 10's on 4.5" lifts

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So you want your frontend tighter then a cheese sandwich. If you dont know what I mean I'll text you a pic. :firedevil

I don't even what to think what this would entail...

copy paste that shit than!!!!

It's too weirdly shaped...I might just copy another guy and weld metal everywhere.

a frog's asshole??

because thats water tight

OH SNAP!!!

DO IT

You goin the 13th Sam?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

upon further inspection it seems like only my camber is off on the rear wheel, and less than i originally thought last night. i would say the top of the wheel is in at most 1/2" more than it should be... it's probably closer to 1/4"... hard to tell with something like that by eye. i'm leaving work early to get an alignment.

Where you going for an alignment? Make sure you go somewhere half decent. I recommend you go somewhere you can get an alignment check for free first. If you find out what you need and how to adjust I can do it. If it needs shims or something though you can go eat a dick. If you're free on a sunday that's usually a slow day and my boss is mad cool. You could be in the shop while I do it.

That's how I solve my problems. Either that, or a bigass hammer!

Yeah, so do I, this happened the night before the last M&G at Lobster's place. Posted up that I couldn't go, he goes "what are you talking about, you own a jeep and a welder, weld that sucker back together and get up here" so I did. My superuglyghetto fix is still holding it together perfectly, even with my terrible booger welds and amazingly strong 1/8" stock I used. For a while I babied it and was really careful to not hit anything very hard but then I realized that my ugly ass fix was about ten times stronger than it had been for the last year so I stopped giving a crap and drive it how I want to now. The passenger side of my axle is pulled about 1/2" further back than it's supposed to, but I don't really care, especially now that I've trimmed my fenders. Between that and the fact that I haven't bothered to adjust my track bar (since I'm putting a new one and new axle in soon) my front end alignment is quite stellar.

maybe when i put those on i'll pick up some 4" coils to replace the 2" coils and 2" spacers i have in there now, it would probably work a lot better as a suspension "system" in the long run

I'd sell ya the 4.5" Rock Krawlers out of the green Jeep. Maybe.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

<Tool talk>
I'm going to have to say Kobalt tools suck. I exploded one of their ratchetting wrenches doing an alignment the other day. I heard good things about them and they're made in the US and have a "lifetime no hassle" warranty. So when I tried to exchange it at Lowes noone even knew they were supposed. They weren't even aware that Kobalt tools are a Lowes specific brand. I was told I had to go threw Kobalt to have it exchanged, plus I checked and they dont even carry individual ratchetting wrenches to even get mine exchanged. So I'm done with crappy lowes tools.

I think I'm going to drop a few hundred on a few gearwrench sets. I think i'm going to get there locking flex head ones and there XL series wrenches(not sure if I want regular combination or double box end). Their XL series kicks dick and I like the gearwrench ratchetting action, nice and smooth. I like the look of there 3/8 roto head ratchet too.
