Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i think Ross already posted that link. It'd be interesting to see how long your 44's would last with Trepadors on them. Buy 'em today!!! Your Jeep would be the next to look like Travis'.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah, Ross posted that last night.

Fortunately, it tempts me not...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

now that i feel like i have a right to run with the big boys, i find myself looking at pirate a lot...

http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showpost.php?p=9695244&postcount=47 i like the idea he used for mounting to the unibody here.

I'm not sure I like that whole idea even though I know Chris (Vetteboy), Bill and some others run it.

Considering the amount of times I've landed/dragged my unirail across/over/into stuff and the way my TNT crossmember boltheads look...I'm just not sold on it.

I would think using crush sleeves through the unirail and mounting it that way would be better.

its easier to just run through bolts through the rails

no bolt heads to get mangled, no buying countersinks and mo stronguh

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmm... i might do both. crush sleeves and bolts through the bottom. i know this sounds crazy, but i could probably make a small crossmember bolt skid to protect just the bolt heads... i'd probably catch it on something and rip it the fawk off though. yeah that's a dumb idea. i was thinking of doing like 2-3 crush sleeves and 3-5 bolts through the bottom...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just weld it on, it's not like you would ever need to take it apart again :gee:

while you're at it, weld the ring gear to the pinion so you won't break any teeth off, it also keeps ring gear deflection down

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

haha like this? this was posted in a pirate thread a while back... i don't have the link to the thread, but basically a member made a fake user name, did this, and posted the pic and said "what the heck, you guys told me to weld my diff and now my rig is busted" he let it go for a few days before admitting it was a joke.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahahahaha, yeah, that's exactly the picture I had in mind when I wrote that

EDIT: Travis, anyone got dibs on the windshield yet? If not, how much would you want for it? MJ needs one for a :gee: install so it can pass inspection, then get a pro installation a few weeks later.

I'd just run like (4) 5/8" bolts on each side and call it good. With appropriate crush sleeves of course.

I don't want any bolts on the bottom of mine but TNT designed it that way.
(3) on the bottom of each rail
(2) using crush sleeves above those
(2) using crush sleeves above the t-case portion

I guess that's enough, considering mine hasn't moved in over a year.
