THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I found 5 33x12.50 Truxxux MT's (on fugly rims) for sale for $350. Somewhere around half tread I think. Very tempting to buy/use them as my street tires...
Snag them, I bought mine from bump without wheels for $450 and they seem to do pretty good aside from not taking a balance. one wanted 40oz between both sides.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yes, Trxus are radials. I think he just wants to sell his tires  I still plan on picking up the LTBs, I just think maybe a 2nd set of swampers for street driving would be nice :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

someone just tried to steal my truck out of our driveway. 2 cops just showed up because it was pushed out into the middle of the street with my gps and some other stuff missing.
That sucks, at least the wheel locked and they couldn't take it. Any idea if insurance/homeowner's insurance/anything is going to cover the stolen stuff?

went down to mohegan sun last night with 50 bucks, came out with $205.00
awesome. Pretty good profit I'd say!

went to the JY and got the wiring harness they chopped up when they pulled that damn tranny for me... going to splice it back together and craigslist it I think.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

thats what i do, tsl radials for the road, boggers for the trail
Anyone know somewhere I can get tires mounted for cheap? I need it to be somewhere that I can put airsoft BBs into the tires (I would go to walmart just because it costs something like $5 to mount, but they most likely won't put the BB's in the tires for me).

So before I post anywhere else, I may have a set of "low" tread 33x12.50 Baja radial MTXs for sale soon. Some tread left, one tire is newer than the others w/ good tread. Hoping to get around $200-$250 for all 4.

Also may have a set of Mickey Thompson classic IIs. center caps are rusted/shot. Wheels are pretty beat (they are straight, just probably pitted and such since they sat in a storage tent for 18 months). One wheel has a bit of a scrape on it. Looking to get somewhere in the $200-250 range for all 4. 15x10 with somewhere around 3.75" backspacing.

i seen you today, in the jeep going down granite street i beeped, i was in the ranger.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hahaha, I didn't even notice. The only Ranger I saw (if it was a ranger) was a mass highway one.

They didn't even charge me for the wiring harness, I guess they figured it wasn't worth screwing around with the credit card machine (I only had two bucks cash and that went towards the entrance fee.)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scott, if you're looking for places, just call around. if they tell you more than a few bucks tell them to shove it. walmart usually is pretty cheap. i separate the BB's into ziplock bags before i go so that I just say here put one of these in each, don't worry about balancing, or new valve stems. i've even had one place let me help put the tires on cuz they were being a pain... just call around and find a mom-n-pop kinda place.

and yeah, i do just wanna sell my tires :D hehe. for some reason i thought the truxxus were bias... oh well. i know songy (a UJ guy) has had good luck with them in the past... they're a better tire than the ones i'm trying to get rid of haha.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if ya cant find a place to put the bb's in. just do it yourself

all you need is a hi lift and a vehicle

break one bead, stick em in, blow it back up

I paid 12 apiece for mount/balance/new valve stems. Had I thought things out a little bit more I would have picked up the HF tire mounting tool for 50, put them on myself, and started saving money after mounting 2-3 sets of tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what really saves money on tire mounting

is beadlocks!

plus the other benefits of course

I'm very tempted to pick that up but idk how well it would work. I'm also tempted to just use aerosol and a lighter to mount them.

Once I find some time today I have to look up how much weight in BBs I need to throw in the tires.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i've been tempted to pick that up too...

aerosol and a lighter would work just fine if you can get the bead over the rim. seating the bead is the easy part....

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

FWIW I took my tires to NTB in Allston to get mounted, as the guys who work there are pretty chill, and did all 5 for $40 cash (in their pocket :scottm:). I hung out and helped so they would get the BBs in right, and I put in around 8 oz of BBs to each of my 33" MTZs. I however wish I put in a little more, like 10oz just to be sure but I can always do that later. THey have a little shimmy about 50mph but it evens out again at higher speeds

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, 10oz is around what I was expecting to use, though i gotta check the weight difference between the MTZs and the Trxus and fine tune accordingly... and by fine tune I mean WAG it

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Getting the darn tire onto the rim and balancing are the ones I can't presently do.
