THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So my Math teacher only assings the odd numbers in the book. Needless to say I didn't even look at the problems but I have all the answers.
All the answers are in the back of the book? My math teacher in HS only assigned the even numbers but told us to do the odds for extra practice. In college I had to use the same book over again. This time around the prof only assigned the odds so we could check ourselves.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you know as much as I do doooood.

I was driving to work today, and it was at 210, a little over at times.

I put the original t-stat that was in there back in, rather than the one I bought at NAPA. It was perfectly fine before I did anything to the coolant.

I need to check the concentration of the coolant, not sure it is up to snuff.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good thing about ebay stores is they strive for good feedback. People wanna buy from stores with as close to 100% positive feedback as possible so they really have to take care of there customers even though I barely paid any money for what I got. It would be impossible to find brakes for a 2wd comanche for less than $120 and I paid half that. We'll see how the work but so far I'm happy.
ahhhh crap, 2wd MJs have different front brake hardware? Consider me informed. Guess I'm back to the junkyard for front brake hardware for the MJ... assuming it ever gets a 4wd swap.

i was thinking bill could use them... but doesn't he want 2" strokes?

i wouldn't mind putting some sort of a cushier bump than a hockey puck, but it seems like air bumps are the only ones that actually last to abuse... we'll see.

i will say that i'm looking very much forward to reworking my front suspension (and rear) a bit.

speaking of that, who has a 180* 1.75 dia die?
I was thinking the same thing, I know he set his up for airbumps so he could put them in when he sees a good deal.

So my Math teacher only assings the odd numbers in the book. Needless to say I didn't even look at the problems but I have all the answers.
Does he require work to be shown? Mine all did, I usually tried the problem myself, if I couldn't quite figure it out, checked the answer guide, which would usually give me enough of an idea what I was doing wrong.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Napa gave me a 180* t-stat and I think it runs too cool now. Unless I'm doing donuts or out wheeling it never gets over 180. But even wheeling It'll stay around 190.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

It is a good idea to always use the 195* stock temp thermostat. You run too cool, and will burn more fuel as the mixture becomes more rich to get up to temperature faster.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

As soon as I put it in I could feel a loss of power But for some reason the NApa I went to has it in the book as what my year calls for. I have to go back and get a new one soon. It wasn't as big of a deal in the summer sitting in traffic at the beach but now it's horrible.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

holy s***, I've been wondering where all my money has been going lately... I just did a bit of a pricing on the XJ and I have spent at least a couple thousand in the past month or 2.. with another $1500-$2000 lined up over the next couple weeks. Hopefully after that i will be able to start saving again and actually do some wheeling to show for all the $$ I have spent :wierd:

Few question on the stuff listed...

t-case I want to keep, it's one of the only things (knock on wood) that I'm worried about blowing up on the new Jeep

brakelines are extended stainless steel, RE front and BDS rear. Same thing, I'd probably prefer to keep them only because I like spare shit :) But if you really need a set, make an offer. They're plenty long but I don't know exact measurements.

shocks I'm definitely keeping for awhile, I want to try different setups on the new Jeep. When I figure out what I'm going to use for sure I can let you know. The ones coming off my green Jeep are Bilstein 5125 12" travel on the front, and 8 or 9" edelbrock performers in the rear

shackles Anthony already got dibs on but he'll be selling the ones from his Jeep I believe. They're also extended, so ask him about those.

Radio is a JVC CD/FM/AM, works fine but it's definitely a Jeep radio, meaning it's a bit older and a bit scratched up. $20 and it's yours

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I really should get new shocks at some point. My current ones are getting more and more unhappy, likely because they're acting as bumpstops too... I literally don't have actual bumpstops in the rear, just the metal bases of the old bumpstops remain, nicely contoured to fit the top of the axle tube. Something bumps against something else, and it stops moving, I guess it must be a bump stop :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Alright, thanks for all the info on the parts. I will talk to Anthony. I may or may not need them but I feel like I should have some to get full benefit of the shackle relocation brackets. Then again I am already over the total lift I wanted so idk... may just use the relocation brackets with stock shackles to keep it as low as possible while improving angle.:dunno: And the stereo sounds alot like my current stereo... I just have to see if mine still plays CDs or not, then I will let you know on that. And the brake lines... well if you want to hold onto them no problem. Just let me know what you want for them when/if you decide to sell them.

That's what i got too! :D Thinking about getting real ones as soon as I figure out where my lift will be sitting once I install shackle relocation brackets though. Then again I need bumps up front more than out back I think. Maybe I will pick up a half dozen pucks one of these days and make some bumps.

Jeff at Crown has extended stock bumpstops for the rail, and you can make your own bumpstop/u-bolt plates pretty easily out of some .375" plate. Cut to shape and drill some holes.

As for the front, drill/tap the coil buckets for a 1/2" bolt. Then drill out some hockey pucks and BAM bumpstops.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Do it.

I give the jeep 2 months with those tires before it ends up looking like your green one.

:D

I know this. and even still...I'm so tempted to ask. what's wrong with me

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah.... I'm not going to ask. IF the front 60 had chromo's I probably would ask. Butttt, it doesn't, and for now I want to spend money on armoring the shit out of this jeep. until it has up to and including a cage, I don't really intend on any drivetrain mods at all. Well, I'm *trying* to resist them, anyway :gee:

Yeah, that's pretty much my plan - as soon as I figure out how much I need once I've trimmed fully. I made my new U-bolt plates out of half inch stock (that's why I had the extra piece that went to Bill), since it was 10" wide I just drilled the holes such that the extra length hangs off toward the center of the axle, those are my bumpstop plates. Since my leaf packs are ~1.5" thick and my new spring perches are ~1" tall, that nets me 3" of effective bumpstop lift, so I might actually be able to get away with just buying new stock bumpstops, not sure. Once I've fully trimmed and gotten my flares back on I'm going to disconnect the front swaybar and flex it out, figure out where I stand, etc.

Of course... none of this can happen till I get my 8.8 swap completed (since I am not screwing around with the U-bolt plates till then.) At least the fenders are mostly trimmed now and I'm running the new rubber without incident, so I don't have to worry about doing everything at once now, can just swap axles.

EDIT: what the hell, man, I hate rain.
