Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
right... hmm...
right... hmm...
That was kinda the reason I decided I would rather put it in a street rig. I figured the 4.0 makes enough torque in stock form and I really don't need the extra power since I will be geared deep enough that it won't matter.id never waste my time installing a v8 into a xj or mj wheelin rig, not alot of room and there just not practical, for a streeet rig hell yeah
I Knew the 10 bolt but forgot about the IRS. I mentioned the camaro even though it had the 10bolt just to use as a proof of concept. Get a full parts car (probably not THAT much more expensive than buying the engine alone) and get the TCS working with a 10 bolt out back; Then figure out how to adapt the TCS it to the 9" or some other stronger rear axle. The TCS thought only crossed my mind on the ride home today since I figured I would be using thi vehicles as a DD so the TCS with an LSD could be helpful with winter drivin,. but the more I think about it that's what the 242 is for. Not to mention TCS would probably piss me off. In the rare case that my abs kicks in that alone bugs me enough nevermind traction controlvetts had IRS so scratch that idea, camaros had weak ass 10bolts so also scratch that idea, i was thinkin about a 9" like the one you got from billy thats out of a older ford mucle car or id even go for a mopar 9.75(i think it was that) out of a older mopar car
mopars had 8.75s
http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1018741 i like this crossmember. i would have made the notch narrower, though
fancy
but why dont people mount crossmembers to the side of the framerails?
its much easier and no bolts to get fonculoed up (i know i know countersunk) but thats just extra work and a $30 countersink
I am not too surprised...i wanna know how they are able to make even the simplest things suck? i bought an anvil from them, FIRST hit with a hammer and i dented it.
You sell it to Rosshow do you screw up making an anvil? :dunno:
Yeah, I think I paid like 130 for it, I know it ended up being 160 or so after tax+2 year warranty because I took too long considering the warranty offer so the guy threw a 20% coupon code in and said "well including the warranty it's now cheaper than it was without that code, how about that?" so I went for it. Best emergency purchase ever. However, if you don't really need one ASAP, I know SqueegieSteve has a Duralast sitting around that he was looking to sell... I was gonna buy it, but couldn't get to Boston on my compressed schedule last weekend.it's on sale right now? hmm... i don't need it but i know someone that will soon. they gave me a coupon book that has some stupid deals in it. i'll probably go back before this sale ends... but then again they alsways have some stupid sale
its quiet an experience, huh? i remember walking around and my dad was like hey check out these cheap welders. words cannot express my anger towards them

The FIRST hit on that anvil that dented it was from ME.
Ross denting an anvil= impressive. Mark denting an anvil = very crappy anvil.
That was a great time though. After Ross told me it was a HF anvil, I laughed and said it would probably dent the first time it was hit with a hammer. I got out a hammer and hit it, and we all had a great time laughing our asses off.
WTF is this shit
how do you screw up making an anvil? :dunno:
they had some cheap vises... i'm going to hold off though. there's a huge vice in my basement. too bad it's missing the bolt in the center... so i just cranked the bolt on the side down haha.
i bought $40 worth of grinder, cutoff wheels, and flapper disks... they had 24 grit flappers. i bought them just for kicks. if they work well, sweet. if not, i only wasted $2.47
WTF is this shit, autozone had hub/rotor/studs already asembled, why did i buy hubs before i saw this
