THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Is it bad that I'm already tempted to mod my truck?

I'm going to try and fix the airbag compressor this weekend, that way I can buy an ARB for the rear. Only problem with this is...if I want to step up to H2 takeoffs then I'll prob want 3.91s - 4.10s...and right now I have 3.54s. The carrier break is at 3.73 for a D80.

Also going to get the 3 pod a-pillar gauge with isspros (FP, EGT, and boost) and then get some factory tow hooks for the front.

You've got the mod bug...

one of my friends curses my name now, because he caught the mod bug due to me always talking about stuff I am planning on doing to my Jeep. He started looking at improvements for his VW TDI Jetta before he even got the title signed over.

That is the one reason why I am glad I hate my altima... I have no interest in modding it or spending a dime more than I have to (except maybe a nice stereo, but that's only if I decide i am going to keep it for a few more years which is kinda wicked unlikely).

-Fix airbags/compressor
-Get front hooks
-Drive truck
-Enjoy truck
-Get the gauges
-Drive truck even more
-Buy ARB if you must
-Continue running stock rims/tires/gears
-STFU

do all that in that order:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's the list I keep telling myself to stick to...

but GAWD it's so hard.

The ARB I definitely want. I've already been in situations where it would have proved useful. I forgot how much open/open sucks.

Especially with an extra 6k+ lbs on the back.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the mod bug dies off when you have multiple builds trying to go on. red jeeps wore off when i started getting into the tons swap, although new suspension will be done over the summer and a hacked exhaust at some point. middle of spring the mod bug will hit on the nova and ill get the tranny/shifter in and drive the piss outta it. then the mod bug will change the stripping down black jeep for the stiffeners.

I gotta find out if the daully is posi or whatnot. it started to roast them on one of the little backroad hills. it was like "oh theres a trailer behind me? im just gunna lay down torque and spin the tires no prob"

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yeah... right now I just want the damn thing to work and stay that way :twak:

If it aint one thing, it's another. Luckily I think my new front pump seal should be waiting for me at NAPA by now, my 4.10s for the new front axle should be either on a delivery truck or on my porch, and I have everything else I need. Time to head out and vote, then recover my hydro jack, tools, and snow shovel.

EDIT: I am looking at the list of things I have not replaced on my Jeep yet... it is getting very small...

the engine is on the list, but I have a spare for that now! So is the transmission. By the time I finish my axle swap, that'll be about it, other than random stuff on the inside.

You're doing something wrong if you're spinning tires towing uphill in a DUALLY.

I never lost traction going up the steep @$$ hills on the way to the gutter. And I'm sure Bill can attest to how steep those were.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

whoo for getting mass text messages from people with "go vote!". too bad these people won't be real happy to find out i didn't vote for Coakley

Bill was in front of me driving home and i was following him. he called travis cause he could tell i was spinnin 'em. it was around a tight little turn and i was in 1st and it was just like "Yo heres tons of power!!!" and it tried to powerslide with a trailer. Way too much torque, it was awesome.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I really just want to leave work right now. Why does this stuff have to be acting up.

Why does this week have to suck royally :gonnablow. Stress level is through the roof right now and I need a smoke but I am on day 19 of quitting.. there's no turning back now. arhghashdhfha.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of mod bug, ive got this sick idea of when green jeep is done to turn the 98 into a street fighter9" rear lp 30 frt, LS1 6 spd 242 1-2" drop with 16" Icon wheels it would be badass

in other news my SRW D60 hubs came today

That's almost the exact build I am planning for the MJ I am looking to pick up (or XJ if I can't find an MJ worthy of that project).

I was going to put an LQ4 into the XJ if I could find the engine cheap enough, but decided I would save the engine swap for a street rig, in which case I would use the LS1 for the weight saving. Then once I finished building 1 tons for my XJ I would re-gear the 9" I have now to something more "stock" and put it into the V8 XJ/MJ, whichever it ends up being. 242 for the full time, probably keep it stock height, and I wasn't planning on using the icons... I forget what wheels I was going to use, for some reason teh cherokee freedom wheels ring a bell... but looking at those now don't look like what I was thinking of. Ideally I would just be able to find some nice turbines and run those. maybe aftermarket turbines.

If I can find a clean/straight body MJ soon I think I may start collecting the parts to do the swap over the summer. Then use that for my DD and sell the altima.
