Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

im looking into possible options for a dana 44, maybe travis can chime in. i know next to nothing about the 44's. If i were to get a d44 out of a ford f150, can i narrow the long side down to a waggy length shaft. if i do that will i be able to find axle shafts that will fit the f150 spline count? what im getting at is i want a 44 as close to a d30 width with axle shafts readily available . i dont want to be hunting down axle shafts.

travis kept his axle full with, if you want to narrow the f150 axle, you can cut down the pass side to wagy with and use a waggy inner shaft with the f150 outer

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i agree, bob... if i somehow trash my 30 when i uh... get my crap going again... i'm going to part the front axle out and upgrade probably to a 44 or 60... probably a 60 and i'll run 38's ish... someday.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i have to say my 30 has seen a shitload of abuse lots of air and rev limiter abuse, never gave me a issue till i broke a shaft (actually ujoint went) but coilin also broke a d44 ujoint in the same spot, its got 2 runs left, lets see if i can blow up a carrier or r&p

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

60 builds dont cost too much more than 44s and theyre stronger, i see no reason to not build a 60...unless width is real important but that can be overcome pretty cheap too

weeeeld ittttt

this is almost like the manual vs auto debate. the 44 vs 60 debate is not so much $ but but weight/clearance/strength. it's really all about how big you want your rig to be

but having to brace the shit out of the unibody to handle the wieght makes it cost more in the long run

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

meh itll handle it haha

i need to get those front stiffeners on, and also the 14bolt is probly gonna require some rear bracing too. damit this buils just keeps getting more expesive

but the end result will be nothing less than awesome

well you dont really have to brace it, but it will destroy a unibody very quickle, but i do agree with you about the end result, but on the other hand not all need 60's to have a badass rig I.E. Travis and Colin's rigs
