Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

has your Check Liver light come on yet? yikes!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Nice, I need to get over there sometime soon. HOPEFULLY work will send me to Cork within the next year. But that may be a bit of a stretch.

So yeah, I can't tell if I should be pissed right about now. Someone drank my last Sams boston Lager (or 2, forget how many I had) over the weekend at our new years party. I was really looking forward to one right about now. But in exchange my buddy left at least a 6 pack of sams light. Oh well, sams light it is.

Edit: What I assume is part 1 isnt working. Says it's unavailable. (the first link)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Hmmm, ken, just saw your post in the LEO forum about hose clamps. Thanks, one more thing I gotta do before this weekend. My hoseclamps from the fuel filler neck to the filler hoses are non-existant. While I don't think those are the most critical hose clamps on the Jeep and I could probably do fine without them for the drive... I will be at autozone anyway so might as well pick some up.

Frack, and I also lost the 4 bolt/screws that hold that cover over the access hole for removing the fuel filler lines. Again, something I can probably do without for one drive, but I guess I can stop by the hardware store and make something work.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just went to the devils/stars game and got hammered and watched brodeur get shut out number 106. Time to continue drinking.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i think i may be putting in a nice order through summit tomorow, mostly stuff for engine(gaskets, rear main, oilpump) now while im ordering should i get a few little things like hood pins and lug nuts?

Rob PM me if/when you go to order the Brown Dog brackets. There are a couple discount codes but the one I got from Carol saved me a good amount. If I knew I was gonna save so much I would have ordered them earlier.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So that commanche that I was looking at buying a while back that apparently sold.... well I found it on CL again and emailed the guy about it. Apparently he completely forgot about me and stopped responding to my emails. How do you do that?!? :banghead: I would think if you are trying to sell a vehicle you wouldn't just up and forget a possible purchaser. Unless maybe he had someone who was going to purchase it who fell though after a couple weeks. I guess I could understand that.

do NOT use autozone hose clamps, they are worse than worthless and could have car-b-q'd my jeep if I hadn't noticed when I did. Home Depot has much stronger ones that have never failed me.

the screws you're missing are just like #12 or 1/4" selftappers iirc, just throw something in there and it'll work. Or pull a couple at the junkyard.

Hmmm, I think I already have a couple autozone hose clamps on there now, though they may not be autozone.... I bought them years ago, dont recall where. Also, like I mentioned, I think I could get away w/ no hose clamps at all since it is just holding the filler hoses to the filler neck, and they hold themselves there pretty well. So I just figured autozone is better than nothing, not to mention that this would be a very temporary thing until I drop my fuel tank again in the coming months to finish up some welding towards the rear end.

And I don't think the screws were self tappers (not that it really matters), but that is the size I was going to pick up, I believe you are right about the 1/4". I was thinking I will pick up some 1/4" along with some 1 size larger and one size smaller. Then I should be covered.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Those screws are the 10mm equilivant to a 3/8 screw, you could probably use license plate screws as they seem about the same.

So to add insult to injury that heater core I just replaced in my XJ, I now will have to redo because somehow the door that opens and closes between hot & cold is stuck open in the hot position. Of course right now I dont care so its staying that way until spring but man is it hot, reminds me of my home in hell.

man, that just blows... I think I'd do without heat before trying to do a stupid heater core. My usual joke is that the instructions for replacing one start with "abandon all hope ye who enter here"

If you ever have to, let me know. I did the one in mine and the older XJs are nowhere near as bad as the newer ones. I had no clue and did it with some help in about 4 hours.

Thanks. Will be picking some up today or tomorrow on the way home. Guess I am stopping in at Home Depot either way so I will just get the hose clamps while I am there.

That really sucks. If you need a hand with anything once you get around to fixing it, let me know.

Speaking of which, I am hoping that the blower motor (on a '93) isn't a hard fix. I know I need a new blower motor resistor, but a couple weeks ago I just re-installed my heater controls and heard a bit of howling once the fans started up again. It went away after a few min so maybe there was just some dirt from being in storage... but I am anticipating the worst which is what I have come to expect :)

Edit: The only time I had to deal w/o heat was when my heater control valve broke apart. It decided to break on Dec 31st 2007 while I was driving to the local tedeschi's to pick up the "new years" pins for me and a bunch of my college friends who I was meeting at a hotel before heading into Boston for the night. I just pulled out the old control valve, completely bypassed the heat system, refilled with coolant, and drove to the hotel just south of Boston. It wasn't all that bad except driving home at 9AM the next morning sucked. 4 hours sleep after a new years eve party with no heat...
