Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
Oh, missed that 5 speed post. I will now chime in
I had a strange issue with mine after replacing my clutch. Even with a touch of threadlocker my top two bolts on the bellhousing backed out a bit (the inverse torx bolts) which resulted in similar behavior. I would check to make sure everything is tight.
And I also always had to do the 1st-> reverse thing. warm or cold I have always had to do it. Never thought anything of it.
I don't think cold weather would really cause much of a change. I actually found that my clutch felt weaker during the summer when it was hot. I suppose you could have a bad master and/or slave, but no guarantees. I think I had a weak clutch (not too bad, but weak none-the-less) before I put the Jeep away. It was miserable and useless when i took it out of storage. I cycled the clutch fluid (just filled the master with fresh fluid, pumped clutch a number of times, cycled master with fresh fluid again, pump, repeat). That improved clutch feel quite a bit. Old fluid will do that. If you haven't already done so, try flushing your system with new fluid from a freshly opened bottle. See if that helps at all.
