THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm having bad thoughts of swapping my 4.0 and AW4 into the 87 YJ in my yard. Someone please give me reasons not to do it!

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

you can swap in 2 440's!!! 1 for each axle.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

prob lubed up the workings!:roflmao:
Yeah it was great, I pulled the battery cover off and tranny fluid + brake cleaner drained out, so I shook it out and wiped it off on my shirt and kept using it :D Ever since I got a new phone I've been using it as an alarm clock / pda for recording what I need at the junkyard, and have been pretty much trying to kill it without going nuts. Still haven't managed to.

No steering necessary while in the mud, REMEMBER?????!!!
Srsly, you just gotta hit the fun pedal till mud goes everywhere :gee:

Isn't the aw4 way longer than the trannies that came in YJs? I'd bet on some really horrible driveshaft angles, but other than that,

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I did a little researching.

4.0L fully dressed weighs about 515 lbs.

440 fully dressed weighs about 580 lbs.

I can give up ~70 lbs :D

as much as I want a 440 in mine, I think I would prefer an LS1.

I was looking for that info a while ago, thanks. Fully dressed I assume means pan/intake/exhaust/valve cover/PS pump/everything else attached?

440 > LS1 anyday.

One of my dad's friends has one in his 4-door coronet with aluminum heads, not sure of the rest of the details but it's built very similar to my brothers that will be going into his 68 charger.

Bottom line - With 2.76s in the 8.75, he runs 12 second 1/4 miles on steet tires.

My brother's will have a keisler 5-speed with 3.55s and fatter tires (though slicks would be awesome). Tell me what you think it will run. :D

These are NA engines too.

I don't deny that the 440 is better. I never would. But for my personal availability and uses I think an LS1 would work well, maybe save some weight

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The exhaust from my dad's hemi will make you start crying if you stand behind it for more than 10 seconds.
Its not the bad/girly type of crying either, its the kind you get from pure enjoyment. I can testify to that.
