:roflmao:

My left ear nearly froze off on my way home last night. Otherwise I would consider it :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

From a licensed Cummins distributor...

24. Does DaimlerChrysler authorized the use of high-flow aftermarket air filters such as K&N with my Cummins engine?
No. DaimlerChrysler and Cummins do not recommend the use of increased flow air filters such as K&N, because they can allow contaminants into the intake that can ruin an engine (scoring the sides of the pistons, etc.)

So buy a hat.

And for mounting a bumper: Is there any reason why I couldn't run a unibody tie in bracket on the outside of the bumper mounting bracket rather than between the bumper mount bracket and the unibody?

I would have to create a spacer which would fill the gap behind the bumper mount, but otherwise, any real downsides to running it on the outside and sandwiching the bumper mount and spacer between the tie in bracket and unibody rather than the other way around?

You'd be creating more work for yourself. What's the benefit?

If the bumper mounts are welded onto the bumper and are relatively tight against the unibody (so I could not fit the tie in's between the bumper mount and unibody). Trying to find work-arounds.

Edit: Reason is, I am looking at buying bump's winch bumper & it looks like it only uses the stock mounting locations (http://naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1017527&page=2). I am not sure how the mount brackets are spaced on that bumper, so in the event that they are tight against the unibody I may have to find some other way to incorporate a tie in.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I need a new horn, but thats junkyard stuff...

maybe some drain plugs for my floor pans! Or lots nad lots of random electrical connectors and wire for wiring up my stereo! And SWITCHES!!!! :D:D:D

Edit: I really need to place an order for myself one of these days. I keep coming up with stuff I want/need to do. I will be building my headliner with roof mount radio and switch panel soon... without that stuff life will be a PITA.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Good idea! I can list a bunch of small stuff Ken needs from my XJ. :D
I keep forgetting to pick up that back seat but other than that I can't think of anything :eyes:

I guess I'll buy a lugnut though, how much will shipping be to 01602?

:anon:

EDIT: Scott you don't need drain plugs, you have duct tape right?

Haha! That was supposed to read "for" not "from", but either way how does $347.87 sound for a slightly used lugnut? I can have it sent via overnight for that price as well.

If you want stuff "for" my XJ, it'll be significantly cheaper. :D

What are you getting from SummitRacing? Wheels?

Price sounds great, I can't find any change in my monopoly set though so I'll send $350

Yeah, I'm getting wheels... seems no one has the wacky wheels I need. The ones I was gonna get from Jay looked fine, except for the fact that they had 1+" too much backspacing :(

I think I'm gonna take one last spin through craigslist and/or check Sam's and then order em up.

EDIT: Jeff, I still have your bumper caps + stock towhook brackets and such. I'm hoping I can pass them to you via Kyle whenever I get him his beer, failing that, I may just head for Stoughton in a few days.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

MORNIN NAC!

I'm thinkin' for Christmas i want a Nikon D40 or D60? Any suggestions? Lenses, Accessories, etc. HELP ME OUT DUDES!!!

I thought you were already going tons?

So I did a little researching.

4.0L fully dressed weighs about 515 lbs.

440 fully dressed weighs about 580 lbs.

I can give up ~70 lbs :D

That would be 65lbs. DUH! If you put a 440 in your XJ, I'll get another XJ and put my 460 in it and we can go at it.

The brackets bolt at both ends so you could squeeze them in or shim the bumper side. There are 5 bolts on each side of the bumper end of the bracket. The bracket that is on it now was a quick thing to try and take it to Fall Crawl which didnt happen, another bracket could be made for more strength and attaching points.

They just called me this morning saying my order was on the way.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

By the way I just counted 49 tires in my corrall and thats not counting any on vehicles.
Wow, you got a set of 36s or 37s you want to part with cheap?

I am looking for a set of tires just to throw on the Jeep and and trim properly before ordering my next set of tires (tires can look like complete **** and be dry rotted for all I care as long as the price is right). Or if not sell for cheap, that I can borrow for a while :D

Thanks Ken! If you aren't able to coordinate and he's not heading near here soon, let me know and maybe we can meet up sometime on the weekend or at another point. Thanks again
