THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

or you could be like the people in my neighborhood and just boost one off some poor bastard's porch/vehicle

:gonnablow

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Work sucks, I'd much rather be at Crotched Mtn riding

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Oh man I wish I could be getting insurance as cheap as you guys. I'm still on the parent's plan (for 2 reasons. A its cheaper. B I don't wanna lose my PBA license plates). I think mine comes out to somewhere over 200 a month. Plus they insure the driver here I'm pretty sure and automatically assign the youngest or most expensive to the most expensive vehicle (which would be an 04 Crown Vic P71). Only another year and 3 months til it goes down when I turn 25 though.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

mines at 64 a month for the 93, hope it dont go up to much when i get the 98

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so i just welded my 8.25 (29 sp)

should i espect it to go kabloom?

the shafts have enough give in them where they dont make my tires go "chirpchirpchirp" like my d60. or maybe its just the balding stt's

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm so sick of working on Friday nights.

With my 27 spline 8.25 welded, with 31" truxus it made a nice shuffle-shuffle, and with 31" michelin A/Ts it sounded like a seal "AR AR AR AR" at about 300 decibels. And as far as the kabloom possibililty, just carry spare shafts :) Anthony runs LTBs on his 29 spline 8.25 locked but it's not welded...

how hard is it to weld it? im thinking of doing it instead of a locker

i pounded on my welded 27 spline 8.25 on 33" TSLs with no issues. i love the sound of tires chirping

when i had those creepys it would be one high pitched squeal, and if it was more than 90 degrees out it would leave a solid black tire mark when i was turning tight

what waste of money lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Haha yeah... I did a couple donuts with those creepys on my Jeep and they left some awesome lines.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ive been pounding the crap out of my locked 29 spline 8.25 since may and it hasnt givin me any issues

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it wasnt bad

i read several threads about it saying to do it with a stick welder using super special rod and dipping the carrier in lime to purify it and preheating and shit.

then i said to myself: "the average backyard hack probably just uses a 110v mig and they seem to survive, my 140 should do it just fine"

i got awesome penetration and allowed it to cool every inch or so. welded spiders to eachother in 8 places and welded the spiders to the carrier and then a lil' extra.

im still a little doubtful on how it will hold (thanks internet people), but then i think of the ratcheting action of a lock rite or "fozzy lockers" (google it) and people say and have those hold up just fine, this should be stronger.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was just on Pirate and theres a vendor/guy selling 37" Goodyears for $75ea. I stopped looking immediately.

My 27 spline 8.25, that we welded, help up at RC but my dshaft didn't.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

guess I'm a "less-than-average" backyard hack. Mine got welded via batteries, jumper cables and welding rod in a field after a day of wheeling, wishing I had a locker. I made the wish out loud... and a club member took me seriously and talked me into letting him weld it (didn't take much to get me to go for it..."nah, I dunno..." "you got brake clean? spray out the diff when we get back to the camp and I'll weld it up for you." "alright.")

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I never had a welded diff but I just ate a bunch of peanuts so don't worry about it.
