THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

How about this one

As much as I want the older body style I would love the 6-speed. I could deal with the newer body style and not super huge size cab. haha.

Edit: Unless of course the ford 6 speeds suck in these things. Then I could deal with auto.
Looks nice, but if it is going to be your DD you might want to reconsider the dually.
i love the 7.3 for pulling power but it doesnt go anywhere very fast...it will keep speed very well though

i thought once ford got rid of the 6.9 they replaced it with the 7.3 all of which had turbos?
I'm not 100% up on my Powerjoke knowledge, but I'm pretty sure that the first few years (up to '93 IIRC) of the 7.3L were non-turbo.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

yea ur right i just looked it up, the 7.3 up until 94 was non turbo

wowee those things must be slow

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i heard some funny stories of older non-turbo gm's and ford's when i was out in wyomnig. you cant even begin to imagine the absolute suck of a deisel without FI at 8000 ft above see level. my dads ride-on john deere could move faster and pull more probably

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I probably wouldnt be DDing the truck.

And yes, I would probably have the altima (or sell the altima like I want to, buy maybe a early '00s camaro/firebird or older vette, or idk what really) for my DD, Jeep for winter/wheeling (or driving whenever I want to), and maybe truck for towing, along with my 2 motorcycles...

but then again my issue would be that I don't want my rig to be a trailer queen so I don't need the truck really, except for picking up all those parts vehicles that will become more and more necessary as time goes on.

And its not so much about needing a better job, I just wait until I find good deals. Jeep is paid off, 2 motorcycles are paid off (Combined, I paid $1200 for them, $100 for one, $1100 for the other, both run great :D), so I am just paying for the car right now. I wouldn't buy a truck unless I could buy it cash. Jeep will cost me $350 per year to insure, 2 motorcycles combined cost around $200 per year to insure... so it's not all THAT much (granted you have to factor in renewing registrations, inspections, repairs, etc... but I tend to ignore those little things :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

how the hell are you gonna insure the Jeep for 350 a year?! I pay like 1500/year in insurance!

I guess Worcester just sucks ass.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

well im sure he has very limitied coverage on it and its not his DD

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ha i just notice ross's sig, and it reminds me of a funny story

i came down to our school's machine shop one day this semester and found a 5/8" HSS end mill, broken in HALF sitting on the table from one of the groups working the afternoon before. and they were making parts from aluminum! i have no idea what they were doing to break it but holy hell they must have been flying

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

When I took it off the road I was paying somewhere in the $1000-$1200 range I think and had pretty good coverage on it (wasn't paying for collision, but had just about everything else I need. When I put my altima on the road I took my Jeep's plan, added collision and called it a day. I don't know how it's so cheap, but i talked to my agent a while back and asked how much it would cost if I were to put the Jeep back on the road, same coverage as it had before... she told me $350. In VA it would have cost me no more than $50 or so. (In MA you insure the vehicle, they assume that if it is insured and registered... SOMEONE must be driving it. In VA you insure the driver, aka a 2nd car costs next to nothing because they assume that you can only drive on car at a time, so they just charge for the higher premium vehicle and the 2nd costs very little).

I am also a "very safe" driver according to my agency:roflmao: I am level 98 out of 99 on the driver scale. at 98 I got some good discounts and at 99 I get even more discounts (some time next year I think). I am paying only $950 or so per year for my 2008 altima...

^ :scared: (to bump's truck burning)

How did that happen?

EDIT: Scott - wow, the speeding ticket and failure to obey traffic device will drop off my record in a few years, I'll be over 25, and hopefully not living in this ghetto crater of a town...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This all makes me think... next time I work on my fuel system, I definitely need to add a fuel shutoff valve right by the tank. Not that that will stop the fire but I'd rather put out an engine fire than an engine + gas tank fire.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think this is what I want for a tow rig. Except I want the super crew or whatever cab has 4 full doors, and probably 4x4. And I want it in black.

I found exactly what I wanted for an amazing price back in '03/'04 time-frame (except it may have been an early 90s rather than 96, that doesn't matter to me).. Sadly I was a Sr. in HS then and my parents thought that was a retarded and pointless vehicle for me to have, thus now allowing me to purchase it. I still drive past the house where it was for sale and remember it. It was awesome.

Edit, maybe I even want an older version so it had the older style interior... ooooh, perfect :D F350 tow truckhttp://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...kId=20015&rpp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=nationalhttp://www.cars.com/go/search/detai...kId=20015&rpp=50&feedSegId=28705&aff=national

Problem 1 - Not a CTD.
Problem 2 - Blue Oval.

:D Just bustin your balls. I don't know much about the Ferds.

Motor for the first one ftw, trans ftl

Motor for the second one ftl, trans ftw

x2. My truck is the easiest thing to drive stick on.

Let's NOT start the transmission debates again.
However, they both would be 7.3L so I don't see your point on one being better or worse than the other. Granted the '96 would have a turbo and more electronics, but it is still the 7.3L.

Haha, I went through the whole transmission dilemma myself. I'm glad I got the NV4500 though.

Looks nice, but if it is going to be your DD you might want to reconsider the dually.

Definitely reconsider the dually for a DD. The main reason I went with a SRW SB is because I planned on DDin mine.

Yeah, I think my ticket dropped off my record this past year, which pushed down my insurance quite a bit. In VA I was paying damn near $2000 per year for the same coverage I have here, so although having a 2nd or 3rd car in my name would have been cheap as hell... having 1 car sucked alot!

I came back up here and was quoted $950 and was all :rof:. After she told me how much it would be I asked "what!?!?" because I was expecting to have missed the "one thousand" before "nine hundred fifty", lol. She was asking me if I thought that was too much and she could maybe work with a few numbers and get me a bit lower but my coverage would suffer. I ensured her it was fine:thumbup:

And yeah, location might have something to do with it, probably mostly affects the price of vandalism/theft coverage I would think. I can't wait until I am over 25. Assuming I don't get found at fault for any accidents or get any tickets between now and then, I will be at the best driver level possible and 25... I will have to buy more cars to keep my insurance bills up each month :D

Was this in your Jeep or a truck? When/where was it?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the people laying on their horns were *probably* because of people panicking and merging right in front of them. I may be underestimating human stupidity here though.

the rest - wtf? Except the guy with the lifted chevy I guess.
