Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just do a BB balance. Either that or Dicks Tire barn will try to balance anything. The gave it a good college try with my old ancient MTs I brought in there before.

Damn, yeah, forgot about BB's. I have planned on running them in my trail Bias Plys to balance it well enough to get me to and from the trail (since I didn't plan on having the wheels 'professionally' balanced).. but for some reason I just completely forgot about them

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just had a customer who activated an iphone for his buddy on his own account. he did it for him with the only condition being he had to use a pink case that he wrote "I like c**k" on the back of.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:roflmao: that's pretty good.

tmobile charged me an extra hundred bucks for my new phone... I was quite displeased by this, but amazingly a call to customer service cleared it up. Should be back in my account by a day from now max, I would care more if it had overdrawn me but luckily it didn't.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I dunno. Their site said $50 phone upgrade charge for that phone if I got a new contract, so I said "hell yeah" and went for it, apparently for some reason it didn't apply their contract discount or something. As such I was fairly pissed off and called them up.

They've had other tech glitches in the past - for instance every month I used to get a text saying "thanks for paying your bill" but then it started getting worse and worse, eventually I was getting 15 or so texts when I paid my bill, all saying the same thing. I'm pretty sure they hired some of billy's passengers to write their billing/customer management system.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

blechhhh. got my toolbox stolen out of the jeep. along with a set of speakers i was JUST about to put in. anyone have a second set of tools for sale or something?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

ug that sucks. As far as basic tools I can recommend a good kit I used. At Autozone they have Great Neck Brand tools. I have bought a few of their tools now and I like em. They are limited lifetime warranty and you can get a real good basic 6 point set of metric and standard 6 points for $50 with extensions. Case is decent too and holds em in pretty well. I'll snap a pic of the one I mean and show ya. Best part is if it gets stolen your only out $50 (can ya tell I live/work in the city?)

:edit:
this one:

When I go to the junkyard I grab that a screwdriver and my set of gear wrenches. It's pretty basic and works well.

I had one of my stock size, almost brand new tires stolen a while ago... had em chained together sitting outside because I'm out of space. They fricken broke the chain to take *one* of the tires.

what idiot does that kind of thing?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's city folk for ya :D had my window smashed and they took the 12 year old crappy cd player with no removable face plate and left the power tools on the back seat. Or broke into my house and stole:
1 laptop
1 camera
1/2 a bottle of hair gel
1 gamecube (left all the cables even though they pulled em off)
all my ps2 games (not the gc games....)
1 trash bin (prolly to put em in)
and random women's clothing from one of my roomates room.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

luckily i don't live in an area where i worry about car parts being stolen. like that guy with the d44. but my girlfriend lives in the city in kind of a crappy neighborhood. that compounded with my laziness to not lock my doors because of no remote lock means it was an easy bid

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

look at it this way, if you had locked your door you would also need a window. I haven't locked my doors since the cd player was stolen. Took me a while to get the window replaced so I learned my lesson. They will get in and get the stuff if they want it bad enough.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

right. if i had a nice head unit or something, or a gps sitting out then obviously i'd worry about my windows, but i think it was really just a couple guys going down the street checking doors

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Only time I had something from the Jeep stolen was when I met up with a couple guys on the trail who blew out a tire, said he had a spare at home (his spare was flat or he forgot it or something). I pulled him out of the ditch he somehow ended up in and let him borrow my spare and we exchanged numbers. Never saw it again, but it was a stocker spare so I just picked another full size spare wheel+tire up at a junkyard I know for 20$ and went on my way. I have been waiting to meet him on the trail again, hopefully he will be in another ditch.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

my friend's honda got busted into a few months ago, they stole his backpack with: a piece of black iron pipe, a roll of duct tape, and an extension cord in it. They left his briefcase and the 50lbs of tools and equipment in the trunk.

Luckily it only cost 25 bucks at the junkyard and a little frustration to fix it.

If you do you should offer to help him again and then once his wheel is off, put it in your jeep and drive away.

I guess it could have been an honest mistake though...

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

He apparently knew a couple of my friends. Not sure if my friend was being fed BS, but apparently the kid barely spent any time at his fathers house (who lived in my town) and the rest at his mothers an hour away. I gave him a day to get back in touch with me but his cell was inactive by that point, apparently either his bill had conveniently lapsed at htat time or he canceled the nextel account or something, idk. I heard htat he was trying to get in touch with me but after a couple weeks had passed I didnt care.
