THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

That's a good question :wow:

I haven't pulled an allnighter in like a year now, I feel like a damn zombie lol

Yeah, I haven't pulled one in a while... Last time I remember pulling one was during 'senior week' at college (so May '08). Most nights of that week I was walking back to my apt from a party as the sun was coming up. It was an epic week. One night I just decided to sit back in a lawn chair in the morning and watch the sun come up. Then lazed around for the day (ended up taking a nap around noon, but oh well).

*grumble* I was supposed to be "working from home" today but just as I was walking to grab my stuff and leave yesterday I was stopped and asked to do a couple things.. Since I was leaving to hit up HF on the way home I didn't want to get too delayed and the work I was asked to do could take a couple hours. So I had to come in today. And I was expecting that I would be cutting out floor pans right now, then in a couple hours welding in an exhaust, then welding in new floor pans.. Oh well, at least the welding shop is on the way home so I can get my acetylene and CO2 tanks replaced/filled.

well, it looks like were gunna wait for someone to come look at the truck before we start to tear into it maybe. i got the feeling its jsut gunna get totalled though, given the age, mileage, damage, and the DS front frame horn being messed up. i think im just gunna try to push my dad towards a new truck. even before the accident, he had been somewhat looking at new trucks anyways. he got the gmc with 12k and it now has 165k, id say its done its job and it might be time to move on.

Ross...just quote me to your dad...

"SHUTUP! CTD!"

:D

If he gets anything else I will be upset.

Worst I ever did was six allnighters in a two week period - sunday/monday/tuesday double allnighter, then took two finals, wednesday/thursday allnighter, sunday/monday/tuesday double allnighter, took another final and finished a final project, wednesday/thursday another allnighter packing all my stuff up and then drove back home at 7am. I slept something like 18 hours a day for several weeks. That whole spring I had been averaging an allnighter or two a week.

That really bugs me, wish they could at least say morning or afternoon, half the time they're wrong and delivery gets delayed to the next day anyways and everyone at work starts making fun of me for working from home two days in a row to wait for one @#%@#%ing package

Why don't you make Johnny hang around and wait for 'em? Aren't they his anyway? You ordered them for him the least he could do is wait for 'em. :D

Not if his dad wants it to last like the GMC did.
Sure the CTD will live that long, but the rest of the vehicle that comes wrapped around those will fall apart well before that.

I'd rather replace ball joints, TREs, front hubs, or whatever rather than anything drivetrain related.

CTD -> NV4500 -> D60/D80. Please tell me which one is going to give up first. :D

Even at 90k (just hit it yesterday), my truck still drives great. It's just at the point of starting to need ball joints (prob do em next spring/summer), and yes these gen CTDs are notorious for track bars but even that isn't bad enough yet. Though the owner did just replace the front hubs.

My dad's friend drives them in some harsh conditions (works on the big construction rigs and other heavy diesels on work sites) and he said it was only the ball joints that kept giving out on them, but he was loading the trucks up beyond their limit. Other than that, he said he couldn't kill em.

I wasn't aware that was a problem? Truck lasts just as long as a gasser, then when the shell is junk, find a low mileage reg cab short bed, toss in the 6bt and head to the track :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

its still awesome, don't worry about it

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

what ^ homies?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

:roflmao: I was wondering if anyone would go for that.

I think Ken is ignoring it...

:(
Nah, I saw it, I just couldn't really think of a witty retort immediately, figured I'd sit on it for a while... nothing came to mind. Plus I was paging through the 94-96 parts catalog looking up brake booster part numbers and doing work :spin1: I do have to do that from time to time.

Random Pre-Black-Friday $5 lunch specials FTW.

I wasn't picking on Colin's truck, but Cummins did their homework on the trucks, Dodge did not.

Sweet. Get into the garage. I had a "half-day" and that's what I'm planning on once I finish lunch.
