Coulda been first a few times now

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

hmmm.... some company tried to charge me $119.95 and I can't understand what my bank's automatic verification phone thing is trying to say it was. This could be interesting.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I was charged 2 instances of $49.95 or something like that, the merchant description was some 8 # value and then a name... don't recall what exactly (sorry, not very helpful, I'm sure I will remember it later or I can look it up).

Earlier this summer I had signed up for a free trial on a foreclosure site. 6 days later I canceled that site to avoid charges. Ends up that when I signed up with this site they 'mistakenly' signed me up for another foreclosure site (or something) which had a 40 day free trial, after those 40 days I started seeing $50 bills each month that I didn't know what they were. The first month I figured it may have been some random store and it didn't seem too unlikely until I saw the same price come through a 2nd time from that merchant same merchant the 2nd month. When I saw the 2nd bill from them I called in to ask about it and fight the charges.

I called in and they got it straightened out. refunded me my $100 or so... I know you have been house hunting so if you have signed up for any of those foreclosure sites it may be interesting to see if it's something along those lines. When I called the company about the charges they said "oh you must have clicked accept on our offer from xyz site".... I told her I was 100% sure I clicked 'no thanks' on every offer.

Alot of the time there is a phone number associated with the merchant you purchased from (along with the other information on where that charge originated). I have BofA so I could pull it up right from the internet. Otherwise you may have to call in and ask or go to a branch to get the phone #. Call them up and ask who the hell they are. Also, do a google search for "charge on my account $119.95". I did that and found several other people who had been hit with the same charges which helped me track down what the merchant was. Also search the phone number and merchant name if you can get that info (include the charge amount in the search). Alot of times if people see an odd charge they will post in a forum somewhere with the info on it asking for advice. I got plenty of info on my charges from forums

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'm the first one to post this morning and it's 9 a.m.?

Shame on you Travis.

:D

I was cleaning up jeep stuff in my yard by 8. Sorry? :dunno:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I am doing my tool shopping today (heading to HF for cut off wheels, flap paddle sanders, sheet metal break, C-clamps, and whatever else I find there that seems like it may be useful) as well as exhaust parts.

Prepping exhaust today as my cat back should be in tomorrow (ordered at 9 last night... holy christ Jegs ships fast). Hopefully I can take tomorrow off... erm, well, 'work from home' :D

No way in hell would I ever try and drive somewhere on black friday. Past few years black friday has been the day that I just sit around and veg out doing a whole lot of nothing. Kinda like x-mas day... don't even change out of comfy pants and sweatshirt. Except on black friday my mother goes shopping so I can sit around and drink beer at noon and not get crap for it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

find a 70 for cheap and toss shafts in
If he can find some the correct length.
the shafts are 100 each through complete offroad
Be careful by the time you pay for shipping on those 1541H shafts you'll be at almost the amount I paid for my 4340 shafts from another vendor.
...on Friday since attempting to drive anywhere would be stupid.
I love living were there is never any traffic.

Black Friday.

...to get to some false advertisement sale.
You mean the sales aren't real?

I can't believe all the people that fall for the "sales". Sure there may be a few good items marked down; but amongst all the items that were marked up before being marked down; items with similar but not quite the same specs (this seems to be the latest tread, be careful with electronics this way); and then just general rip-offs it is a waste of time, IMO. I'll stay home and work in the garage.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah except now they'll all be out at the same time.

:explosion::explosion::explosion:

Yeah dude, 3-7AM....sleep in a bit and you'll be fine :greensmok

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I love living were there is never any traffic.

My town used to be like that (and still is sometimes)... but lately they have been putting more and more **** in.

Funny thing: We had walmart for years which f***ed with out traffic, got real bad from time to time. They then closed the walmart to remodel it into a super center (except they made a super center inside the same walls as a normal store.. i.e. it has all different stuff, but a piss poor selection of everything). During the remodel they made everyone go to a different local store. I thought the super center would bring alot of traffic... The super center opened and it SUCKS. I have had people from Boston hear that i am from Halifax and say "oh, your town got that s****y super center?". So everyone hates the store and is already used to driving to other local stores.. so they just keep driving the extra distance and our traffic is a bit better than it was before :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the night before thanksgiving has to be one of the best nights to go out drinking.

+1

i'm pretty sure it's unmatched.

i've worked in retail the past 7 years...so black friday is really a massive kick in the balls. however there are some decent deals. the doorbusters are generally stupid though. great, you can get a shitty laptop for 150 bucks. but you'll fight a bunch of middle aged women lining up at 4 in the morning ready to release their pent up rage on the hoards of people who dare stand in their way.

Turns out it was someone trying to use my card to buy a Kaspersky AV subscription for a few years... I run FreeBSD so I have absolutely no need for that. They told me that the charge had been declined and had actually been attempted several times over the last month, so I'm pretty sure my card number got stolen. The mag stripe on it barely works so I'm gonna pull a few hundred for day to day expenses/gas and call to cancel my card and get a new one issued later today I guess :dunno:

with the age of the internet, the funny thing is i could sit at home and surf amazon/newegg/etc and find the SAME DEALS and not have to leave home. definitely the underrated aspect of how stupid these people are
