Hell, I'm embarrassed by everyone.
Compression fittings should not be used on brake lines, except to limp home if you had a line failure.
serious question...why? I'll be honest, I've head this from a few different places, but no one seems to have any specific, first hand experiences with having a compression fitting fail. I've got 2 or 3 of them on my rig, and they've been there for about 2 and 1/2 years without a single problem from any of 'em. It just seems to me that all the compression-fittings-are-bad talk is just hearsay. I'm open to see what others have to say though :viking:
I didn't know it was illegal :eyes: or...erm... well.. but either way: cop didn't see it, I didn't do it.Actually its illegal in MA to use them on brake lines and they also require a double or bubble flare but before I knew any better I used comp. unions with single flare especially to get off the trail or road.

Yup. I was using CO2 when doing my floors since that's what came with the welder I bought. That is what I would use IF I decided to use my welder for a cage. I am very tempted to try building a bumper first and see how that goes.. I have some 3/16ths or 1/4" flat stock I may cut a couple pieces out of to see how deep the weld goes on that. If I can go slow and get good penetration I will consider using my mig for heavier stuff.I've heard if you use straight CO2 instead of argon you'll burn alittle hotter as far as mig.

Me too. :loveu:Ross. I'm positively FLATTERED by your new sig.
He is!:roflmao:
Bump you're on a roll.
I might have an old spare in the pile 'o parts in the yard (cant remember if its a driver or passenger side) and I'm also not sure if it's a 260x or 297x (either way it'd probably need replacing) but if it's useable to you, it's free...
