THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Billy I'll split the cost of a HF pipe bender(when they go on sale) then let's start building some cages.

Another poop pipe cage

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Probably, that's what most people use or something similar. They go on sale for $60 every so often.
I need to find/build a tube bender for cheap(ish). I want to fab up tube fenders and a cage sooner than later.

I can see poop pipe holding itself up in a rig like that during a flop...

but holding up to the weight of an XJ might be a bit much. that thing seems to be poop pipe, an engine, and axles  Not saying it's a bad thing, just saying that I wpnt be using pipe on my rig when I do my cage

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

funny you should say that, because i bought one the last time they were on sale

Did you modify it? From what I hear they will kink the crap out of anything if you don't mod it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

This guy builds poop pipe cages for people. 1 5/16th .130 wall. i sold him axles awhile back

That cage looks scary, no B pillar triangulation and a pipe cage doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy.

its not even out of the box yet, but i know how to do it.

the dude has rolled the thing more times than me so i'll take his word that it works.

I'm gonna start of by doing some tube fenders then ill get into a cage

I have a similar plan. I want to start with sliders, bumpers and whatever to get the hang of getting decent bends out of it then work out a plan for a GOOD cage with someone and make it out of pipe. As long as your pipe is ASTM and not from china or mexico it should be pretty darn strong. Not as strong as DOM but stronger than HREW since it has more diameter and thickness usually.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of HF, has anyone used one of their tool chests/roller cabinets?

I am looking at this (last item, 11 drawer roller cabinet):
http://www.harborfreightusa.com/usa...eBook.do?bookid=263&preview=&type=RET&simple=

Probably a POS, but figure it's worth asking about. I could really use my own tool cabinet/drawer setup... it would save my a ton of time and space.. and for $140 if it's any good at all it may be worth it. I just need it to last a few years until I get a craftsman or something... It's even better if it lasts a long time, but I wouldn't complain if it died after 3-4 years at that price

look on CL i'm sure you can get some better quality for HF prices

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

it'll depend on how bad he needs something that'll be good for plowing and any available fundage in my account, and i'd have to figure out what exactly to do with an M715, if I ended up buying one. hmmmm

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

speaking of CL. Holy mother of tool chests. I would buy this thing if I had my own place. If nothing else I would use it for tool storage/bar in my living room :D

Edit, nevermind. I thought it divided in the middle (two piece chest). It appears like it may be one piece.. therefore no use as a bar
Edit2: nevermind my nevermind... aparently it does come apart into 2 pieces. Woudl make a great bar PLUS a nice raised platform on the back of my kitchen table :D

the guy on NEOW is selling the truck to someone in maine, unless i have a "really good offer he can't refuse". which I don't. I'm just dreaming... d'oh. another day, another day

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

at one of my old co-op jobs we had one of those home depot tool chests and it was actually really nice. I'd buy one. it was 2 peices too, just not easily seperable.
