THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

You just need a vice and a soldering gun.
I've got both (been soldering since I was 9, I'm EE at heart and only a gearhead for a few years), this thing works better I swear. Hell of a lot faster, too, and can't melt the insulation no matter how much I screw up.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

My brother and sister both run Ubuntu (brother also runs FreeBSD and Ubuntu)... I run FreeBSD. We still haven't converted parents over to Linux though...

Anyone know of a site that sells micro-iso (small jeep relay) sockets? Google is failing me, all I can find is places in England and a billion and a half chinese resellers trying to dump old stock.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

the junkyard has them for freeeeeeeee

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

i run ubuntu sometimes too.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

its kinda weird using ubuntu after windows. guess i gotta spend more time with it.
i always have a tough time setting up my wireless connection.

yeah, but those are all corroded and crap :( I did pick up a pair of engine compartment fuse/relay panels to combine into one fully stuffed panel to use as a power dist center in the back next to my OBA setup, but I want my headlight wiring to be absolutely perfect.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

$307 shipped from fullsizexj for all my RE junk. I'm going to have to shake up some little kids at the elementary school.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So to add to my list of RE parts, 2.5" AAL and 1.75" coil spacers. Should be in the $400 range I'd expect. But then I'll be ready for 33's and 4.88s.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

work work work.
im taking a day off next week.
I just got my paycheck yesterday and realized I have 40+ hours of vaca saved up, as well as 8 hours personal time:rof:

Theres only a couple more week until thanksgiving and I get T-day plus the day after off, so I think I will just deal with the grind until then, so I can get my long weekend for free :) Got a friend graduating basic trainining in a couple weeks who should be back for a couple weeks in December so I will be saving my vacation time for then... so I can put him to work on my Jeep :D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

lol

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I think I have 2.5 weeks of vacation or so saved up now... used a day for court, two days for camping/flea market trips, and I think one other day so far this year. I was planning on using it to fix up a house but it looks like it's gonna be jeep building time sometime around Christmas :D Assuming I end up buying axles or gears, that is.

I have Fedora on my other computer, I really like the YUM package manager.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The only reason I haven't run Linux in years is it's support for video cards and their lack of solid media players and limited codec support sucked a fatty compared to what's available for windows. I watch a TON of stolen online content in crap ass load of different encodings so I've always had to run windows.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

The other great thing is even though I have 40 vaca hours.. I rarely have to use them :D I had my speeding ticket appeal... just came into work late. My Dr appointment, I just left early. No vaca time used.

My boss said we dont get the day after thanksgivng off (but that was changed recently), and we also dont get new years eve, or xmas eve off. He said he doesnt plan on being in the office and doesnt expect me to be either on those days. I just have to keep the blackberry on me and have my laptop available in case I have to respond to an email.

I also mentioned that i would need the days off when my friend gets back from basic in Dec. My boss said "depending how busy it is, just work from home. Only use vaca time if you wont be able to access your email at all". Pretty much I can take a couple days off here and there and as long as I can hop on email once ever hour or so I am free to do as I please. I only need to use vaca if I dont want to even think about work/email or I am going skiing or something where I can't respond to emails. Haven't taken advantage of that yet (boss 'works from home' probably once ever week or 2, I come to the office to get away from the home ). I really hope I dont lose this job... but oh well

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Yeah, I could have just come in late for my stop sign appeal, I mostly just used it as an excuse to take a Wednesday off.

why am I thinking about starting yet another jeep electronics project... hmmm

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
