Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

does anyone have a working dryer they don't need/want/want to sell?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I have two... one you have to start like a model-A (the kick panel has been pulled off and you hit the button and spin the bottom of the drum simultaneously :gee:) and the other screeches and clunks and bangs and tends to chew burned-looking holes into your clothes in random places when they get caught between the edge of the drum and the frame. I'm using one, the other (either one) is free if you want to be blessed with it.

Hey man, you may not know this but I am a fat soccer mom and I drive my kids around everyday in my XJ. This statement is not cool.

ROSS BUY RANDOM STUFF!!!!!

went to a cabinet shop that was having a bank seizure sale :( and found this sitting (upstairs no less:doh: who carries these upstairs??) in the corner. no one seemed too interested in it and made no real attempt at bidding on it. i outbid some guy by a couple of bucks and it was mine.

its a vintage old school bridgeport. seems to be all good, got it CHEAP

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

also I gotta ask... anyone else see that d35 in the classifieds for 200? I can't believe that asking price.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

So I realized my CTD has a Dana 80 outback.

I pray to god I never have to touch that pinion seal...

Nut Pinion-Minimum 450-500 ft. lbs. (597-678 Nm)

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

if you do need it removed i have a 1" impact gun run off a 3/4" air line...its kinda scary to use so i tend to stay away from it but itll crank somewhere in the neighborhood of 1100 ft/lbs of hand breaking force

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

holy christ, that's quite some torque. I wouldn't worry quite as much about taking the nut off as putting it back on at the proper torque... though I suspect you could do that just fine with a 3 foot cheater bar and a recovery strap (500 ft*lbs at 3 feet is what, 166 pounds? strap yourself down and pull.)
