OH! definitely sunday, bump!!! colin will buy you panos! :D yes, i'm offering that without consulting colin. but, it's easy to guarantee; we'll just say you need to buy bump a sandwich or we aren't going to pano's today. he will then be extremely scared, and offer to buy you as many sandwiches as you want. :D good plan.

Ross, what are you planning? I'm planning (hopefully) a d30+8.25 with 4.10s on the first trip, or if I fail at being strong enough for that, a d30 then an 8.25, probably after that I'll go for four TJ rear flares, some TCUs, a tranny cooler or two, and maybe an AW4 if I can manage it. My friend who just bought that MJ needs an AW4 with 4wd tail housing, a front DS, and a transfer case, hopefully that can be trip #3/4.

EDIT: new tranny lines got here! Hell yeah, I think I'll install them tomorrow night after work. Meant to install them tonight, but instead I went and hung out with a few of my friends and we went to investigate the new 1.5 megawatt windmills they're installing on a hilltop out in Princeton. Those things are HUGE :viking:

Is there a good junkyard replacement for stock upper control arms to complement WJ lowers. After seeing Mrs. Lobster's eat itself I was thinking maybe weld a brace onto a stock upper. Again, budget minded upgrades that a friend of mine can BEAT on.

It will be on a bastard pack rear and ZJ coils/spacer front so not a huge amount of lift. I want to free up as much money as possible so he can afford skids and lockers.

Alright so I've been looking through some stuff about beadlocks today. Looked through some H1 2 piece rim type beadlocks, as well as the weld on ring kits. Definitely going to have to go through and weigh the pros and cons of both.


Looks like I'm going to be doing a good bit of research on them. What is the easiest. Cost is definitely a factor, as is the weight. I want to keep them pretty light. I Think I definitely want to go with something that will lock both inner and outer beads. That is definitely a highlight of the 2 piece rim design.

carmelo, I think ehall just had a thread in ModTech about this - apparently WJ uppers will work you just have to trim something a little to make them fit. I'd bet that would work pretty nicely if you plated them or boxed them fully (assuming they aren't already fully boxed, I forget.) I'd personally be tempted to make some out of 3/16 wall square tube though, and just skip the upper bushings and let the lowers take it all :gee:

EDIT: metal on metal pivot, hmm, that's actually a pretty bad idea now that I consider further.

WJs dont fit from what I got out of that thread. He had to trim something off the Comanche itself to get it to almost fit. they are fully boxed so it would be nice if they would fit though.

as far as skids go carmelo, excluding diff covers you can make your own easily enough assuming you've got the ability/time to fab them. whats he gonna be running for tires, do you know yet?
