THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I shouldn't need you to. I would go to Crown but i'm going to buy some starter fluid to so i'm going to stop by autozone when my girlfriend gets back from school. If a little more effort doesn't end up getting it started then i'm going to part it out. I can borrow my mom's car to get to and from school while I work on the Comanche.

How interesting would driving in 4hi be in the snow on the road with an aussie in the front and rear?

No problem. I did it last year on 33s. Lockrite D30/ No-slip D44 with 4.88s.

LOVED it. Just don't floor it when taking a sharp turn from a stand still and don't be an idiot.

You'll be fine.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I plan on ordering a set of 4.11's so when I do that I need a new front carrier so I didnt know if I wanted to fork out almost $800 on an ARB. So I guess I can just spend like $300 on a new carrier and a lunchbox locker.

Colin and Adam will tell you to get a full case locker. It seems like that would definitely be the dana 30s weak point. Adam even broke his with 4.10s and not beating on it too hard. So if you're going to throw money at a 30 and regear it and whatnot get a full case locker.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

cmelo try the tps i hear that goes bad too and will get a short lived run time out of it and if you give it gas itll die

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

What about holding the gas for a while?

And yes, I'm sure you get no spark from the CPS, that was why I had to tow the red jeep home when I first bought it.
CPS uses a Hall effect technology, it senses proximity of something. This is why it the plate in the transmission has all teeth around the outside, that is what the CPS senses. There really is no moving parts, and nothing for it to misfire. If the CPS was bad, you wouldn't really have your Jeep starting every time.

My bad CPS did allow me to start every once and a while, but not consistently.
I think it's actually a variable reluctance sensor (at least on Renix engines) but I'm not sure... still learning engine electronics. Pretty much, it uses a magnet in the sensor and an electromagnet to figure out when the teeth go by the sensor head; every time a tooth goes by more of the flux loop from the magnet is within metal instead of air (higher permeability) so the signal goes up or something like that. I know the ABS sensors are variable reluctance, you can tell easily because they pick up tiny shavings of metal along the line down the center of the sensor head.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Pre '91 are not Hall effect, thus they have 2 prongs. After that its a Hall effect, with 3 prongs.

Same things happens with the CPS, no matter what years its from. Hall effect uses magnets as well.

Its wicked fun!! i approve this message. ive also been known to do it on dry pavement:shhh: i used to do it when i was out wyoming when wed get fresh snow, at that time i was locked front, open rear. unlike colin says, its way cooler to floor it and be an idiot or at least thats what i did:D

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

man, I can't wait for some snow so I can do stupid shit without losing any rubber :D I wonder how many times my friends will call me at 8:30AM to get their Hondas pulled out of snowbanks this winter.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

your ipod gets a wireless network at work?? :)
no, i wasn't on my ipod. one network at work is more restricted than the other. i could get here but not to personal email... lame

rawr

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Fuel filter was the culprit! Changed it out and now it runs, albiet sh!tily But i'm sure that's because of dirty injectors or the computer has to learn to run on more/clean fuel.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

so who here would trust a drivetrain with 225k miles on it?

runs and drives perfectly fine. quick as a bastid
oil pressure is "there" not great, but acceptable.

4.0 aw4 in a 97

a part of me want's to keep it in there and see how far i can take it and a part of me says just swap over the 130k mile drivetrain and fuggehtaboutit.

will be driven up to 1000 miles at a time and beat to shit anywhere inbetween
