Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread
hard lines are not a fun time in the tj
had to do it in june on mine
the back is easy as pie its the one that goes to the passengers front that is a bear
No, they are not a fun time, especially when the line you just fixed blows out when you go to bleed it.
I think that's the one that's blown on it...? Am I right Mark?
If so, that could suck.
Ya that's right.
My sister drove my dad's TJ to CountryFest in Foxboro yesterday, and the brakes went out on her. I go down, meet up with Ross, and we find out that hardline is rusted and blew out where it runs over the drivers frame rail.
Ross and I get new line and replace from a little past the rusted section to the master cylinder, and when we go to bleed it, the same line blows a hole in the exact same place where it runs over the passenger frame rail. All parts stores are closed, and we end up having it towed back to my house.
I then have to wait until the concert finished at 11, drive my sister and her friend 1 1/2 hours to our house, then wake up and sat in 2 hours of traffic to get back to Boston this morning. I was supposed to write a paper and study yesterday, but that didn't happen.
At least Ross and I had fun picking out the drunkest people stumbling out of the stadium, and he saw my frustration at me trying to direct my extremely directionally challenged sister to where we were via phone.
Edit: Ross responded while I was typing.
all three lines for the first almost foot after the distribution block are all ready to go next. i advised mark to do complete new hard lines to both front wheels and as far back to the rear wheels as needed. giving the fact its lived on the cape, it may be all the way to the rear hose.
That is the plan. It lived its life on the beach all the time, so it is expected I guess. Tranny lines looked the same as those brake lines, which is why one of them blew a month ago.
