THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I'll try it, Benedryl cream works really good except I think it's supposed to be used sparingly. At least that's what it sais on the tube! It comes in a small tube and I used a good half of it for one use.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

someone was telling me yesterday that your own urine cleans up zits too.... wtf who was the first person to try to pee on their face thinking "hmm, i think this will get rid of that pesky zit"?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Dont worry Mark, like ive told you before my luck with the nova is equal to your jeep luck. that being said I was taking it for a little spin and the DS front wheel is now locked up, producing vibes, pouring smoke, and such. looks like the brake caliper is toast and not releasing completely. I HATE the brakes on this thing, hands down its the only thing that continues to always give me problems. the next round of work will be new calipers, brake hoses, fine tuning the brake pedal push rod length, correct brake pedal for an auto, and whatever else decides to poop the bed.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

I equally hate brakes. My red jeep is pulling to the right a little when braking. I sat in so much traffic driving from the cape today.

I can't wait to replace all those hardlines on the TJ.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

scrape poison ive with knife or similar, then hose with brakeclean. burns like hell but itll be gone in 2 days max

its funny how these things come about...
I was trimming two weeks ago and go covered with Poison ivy. I three days later it had swollen my hands up, and was itching like hell, A buddy of mine asked if i could help on his transmission. and I got my hands covered in ATF...
the next day.. all the poison ivy on my hands was dried and two days alter GONE!... I couldn't believe it. it usually lasts for weeks.
Now I am going to try the brake clean next time that sounds like a good idea..

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

Body mount is cleaned up and new top plate is sitting on top. I tried to weld it, it was a no go. Welding something that is above you and/or horizontal is a completely different then sitting in front of you. Either way it shouldn't be hard for Ross to burn it in.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread

just woke up from a 2hr nap, one more day of work tomorow then im off for a week, unless they got work for me back homw(wich i hope so i can get super bling for the green jeep)

hard lines are not a fun time in the tj

had to do it in june on mine

the back is easy as pie its the one that goes to the passengers front that is a bear

that is the one that popped. first it was on the DS right behind the shock tower, then it was on the opposite side in the same place right before the brake hose. looking and the design of the TJ frame, it seems to be a spot where water and stuff likes to collect. they were the only two spots on the frame that were rusted and looked crappy, while in front and behind on the frame was much cleaner. worst part is thats not even the badest, all three lines for the first almost foot after the distribution block are all ready to go next. i advised mark to do complete new hard lines to both front wheels and as far back to the rear wheels as needed. giving the fact its lived on the cape, it may be all the way to the rear hose.

No, they are not a fun time, especially when the line you just fixed blows out when you go to bleed it.

I think that's the one that's blown on it...? Am I right Mark?

If so, that could suck.

Ya that's right.

My sister drove my dad's TJ to CountryFest in Foxboro yesterday, and the brakes went out on her. I go down, meet up with Ross, and we find out that hardline is rusted and blew out where it runs over the drivers frame rail.

Ross and I get new line and replace from a little past the rusted section to the master cylinder, and when we go to bleed it, the same line blows a hole in the exact same place where it runs over the passenger frame rail. All parts stores are closed, and we end up having it towed back to my house.

I then have to wait until the concert finished at 11, drive my sister and her friend 1 1/2 hours to our house, then wake up and sat in 2 hours of traffic to get back to Boston this morning. I was supposed to write a paper and study yesterday, but that didn't happen.

At least Ross and I had fun picking out the drunkest people stumbling out of the stadium, and he saw my frustration at me trying to direct my extremely directionally challenged sister to where we were via phone.

Edit: Ross responded while I was typing.

That is the plan. It lived its life on the beach all the time, so it is expected I guess. Tranny lines looked the same as those brake lines, which is why one of them blew a month ago.
