got more done on the jeep today, motor mounts, ruffstuff cover and put the frt bumpstops back in, still got a few things left before wheelin this weekend should get most done after work tomorow
holy HELL there was traffic coming home from work today, thanks to two dipshits who got in a teeny fender bender and decided to take pictures of the scratch for the insurance company..... in the fast lane! grrr
Oh, I knew it was overbuilt. I figured when building it, I might as well go all out, do all the work the first time around. I will say I don't think I realized the full extent of the over-builtness until it was fully done.
my plan for the evening:
eat, preferably quiznos
go to jeep
clean up the horrendous mess of tools in garage
pull of drums from d44 to fix the orientation (again), pack bearings with grease if i have time
oh mark there were 2 part numbers i've found for flowkooler water pumps - its different on quadratec and summitracing. do you know if htere is a difference?
bump, theyre the RE 5" (~1.25" lift) shackles. look to be pretty stout, welded all the way around, zerk fitting, and .25" thick. they were $78 for the pair through fullsizexj on here
bump, i basically decide on what i already have and how much what i want to do costs...
the first thing i bought for my jeep was a step in the correct direction: the no-slip, then 31s all within 2 weeks of each other.
but basically the reason i still have stock axles is that i felt like for where i was going (no bigger than 35s for those axles) it was reasonable and also at the time i started building it i had no welder and next to no fab knowledge. i've learned a lot in the last couple years
Kyle those are not table decorations, there lift shackles, suposes to be installed in the rear of your jeep like in this pic
when i got Mark's axle from ross it was in ruff shape, open diff, a little rusty and broken shock mounts, but after some mighty putty and a little buffing from a shamwow its locked and damn sexy
